Beginning of the end

Third POV

A flash back plays cutting through the flashback Oobleck is heard "Yang Xiao Long wins!" The cheering of the crowd brings the scene back to where the story left off, in the Amity Colosseum, with Mercury's picture on the board crossed out with Yang's beside it. The final events of the previous Chapter play out in flashes of scenes. from off in the crowds Ruby yells "Yeah, you did it, sis!" Mercury gets up as Yang prepares to leave "There's not going to be a next time, Blondie!" He aims a sudden kick, and Yang punches him down with a shotgun shot from her Ember Celica. The applauding crowds turn to booing, and Yang is suddenly surrounded by Atlesian Knight-200 and Atlas Soldiers.

An atlas soldier points his gun at her "Yang Xiao Long, stand down!" Mercury is crying (like a bitch) over his 'injury' "My leg, MY LEG!!!!!" Cutting back fully to the present, Mercury is still cradling his injured limb, Emerald kneeling beside him and Yang in the center of a ring of security, all with rifles aimed at her.Emerald is distressed, calling out "Please, somebody help him!" paramedics come over with a stretcher, lowering it to Mercury "Can you do something!?"

There is a rip in the leg of Mercury's pants, and skin and blood are visible through the rip. The paramedic exchanges a glance with his coworker "We need to get this boy to a hospital. Grab a blanket." They get Mercury on the stretcher and rush him off, Emerald following right behind. Yang looks on with a horrified expression, her lilac eyes now almost colorless

Yang talks to the guards "You don't understand!" She pointed at Mercury "He attacked me, I swear!" The guards raise their guns up more "Stow it! You've already caused enough of a scene!" Meanwhile, Emerald runs alongside the two paramedics as they come across an open door with a woman in the same outfit inside. Later, the back door closes on the emergency airship they loaded Mercury in. The transport flies away from the Colloseum, and Mercury is lying on a cargo box in the back, still moaning and crying beside Emerald sitting next to him.

Mercury continues the act "Oh doc, tell me, will I ever walk again?" he receives a punch in the arm from Emerald, looking at her as he rubs the sore spot he actually got hurt from "Ow! What's your deal!?" Emerald was groaning suddenly as she puts a hand up to her forehead "Ugh, headache. One mind I can handle, but two is a stretch."

calling back to them from the co-pilot's seat cinder commended her team "Well, you all performed marvelously, driver included." The "driver", wearing a similar uniform as Cinder, blinks her magenta eyes back to their usual brown and pink shades and nods in silent gratitude. as the airship continues to fly away Mercury speaks up "So, you think it worked?"

Meanwhile

TV static cutting to the Vale News Network with the combined kingdoms' symbol and a caption reading 'Tournament Tragedy' "A terrible tragedy took place this afternoon in the one-on-one rounds of the Vytal Festival Tournament-" TV static switches the channels to... out in the streets of Vale to the camera "I don't know what Beacon's Headmaster is teaching his students, but that was disgraceful! Completely uncalled for!"

TV static switches the channel to... with the video of several Grimm – Goliaths, Ursai, Nevermores, Boarbatusks, and Beowolves – running across Mountain Glenn towards the city "Despite Atlas reinforcements, local authorities are still calling on any available Huntsmen to aid in suppressing the spike in Grimm activity." The projected screen in the warehouse switches off entirely.

Mercury was at a table with his mechanical leg on a table, a screwdriver in hand as he works on it "Hey, I was watching that!" Emerald just tells him to shut up "Is this how you treat a patient?" Emerald reaches over and twists the screwdriver in his leg, causing him to wince "Ah, too tight!"

Meanwhile with Dante and (Y/n)

They had just got the news of yangs "attack" on Mercury

Dante pov

"Bullshit" we say at once as team RWB* are telling us what happened "one there is no way yang would do that without reason" I said "Two Mercury's legs are fucking fake" (Y/n) says as they all look confused "how do you know they are fake?" Ruby asks "well..."

As I "accidentally" dropped a magnet, it immediately shot towards his leg. The top half of it made a loud metallic clang as it attached itself to his leg. The moment was brief, but it triggered a flashback. "Plus there was always something off about him," (Y/n) said, referring to the individual in question. "Like when he fought Pyrrha – and we all know her semblance – she was able to move his legs with her semblance. It was a slight adjustment, but she did it nonetheless." As we shared our suspicions with each other, it became clear that we both had a sneaking suspicion about Emerald and her team since the day we met them. Similarly, we had a bad feeling about the fight with Barnabas, and it ended up being disastrous for us. I let out a sigh as I got out of my bed in the infirmary, my arm in a sling. "You would think being the dominant of Phoenix, I would heal faster," I grumbled. Everyone found it amusing and laughed at my misfortune. "Asses," I muttered under my breath as I walked out of the infirmary to see Yang. I knew she was innocent, and I refused to believe that she could have done something like that. After all, it wasn't something she would do. But what better way to hear it than from the dragon's mouth?

Y/N POV

As the girls told me what happened I didn't believe it once bit but we already went over all that I just sat in my room With torgal as I was annoyed that things are going Emerald and Mercury's way I knew they were planning something but I couldn't even imagine what it was all I knew was I'll need ifrit when the time comes and I was hoping this time I was wrong but...I don't think I am this didn't sit well with me and I sighed also thinking about what Ozpin told us about the maidens being real and how they wanted Pyrrah to be the new fall maiden something I knew she would agree to on her own terms and we found out that Barnabas guy was the dominant of Odin the right hand man of a darker being named "ultima" who appeared before Dante a few times but was always ominous about things he told him

Meanwhile

Ultima stood atop the school "well done Odin" the blue man looked at the dominant kneeling at his side "I've put mythos and phoenix down for a while as you requested and they won't be in fighting conditions for quite some time or so we should hope" ultima remained with his unchanged expression "it is no matter how fast they recover they will not stand in our way for long when they get up we will just kick them down again
