"Colby what is this news you need to tell me," I questioned as Josh and I were now sitting on the couch in his living room. "Julie I...I'm your....umm... brother," he startled out hesitantly.
I didn't know exactly how to take this exact information. To me it was like tornado coming straight at me, and then it all of the sudden stops just inches away from me. "How can that be? Does that mean your related toJon too," I questioned intently wanting every last drop of answers I could get out of him.
"No. You see your only related to me because your and Jon's mom cheated on his dad with my dad. They had you secretly, but your mom told Jon's dad that you were his and when he found out. He didn't take it as plan," Colby explained which brought back the unfresh but still fresh enough murder of my mother.
The watrey dam that welled in my eyes started to overflow while Josh had pulled me lower to him as he had caressed my back with his calloused hands. "I'm sorry Julie. I shouldn't have said anything. I didn't mean to make you cry," Colby apologized as if he were the one who had actually killed the only person I had ever loved growing up.
"Colbs don't apologize. I love you and that dumbass douche bag of a deadbeat so called father of mine knew! Why the hell wasn't I told? It's fine but I hope you get good sleep tonight and we'll have to hang sometime. Y'know that brother sister bonding time," I joked before he walked out the door.
As he left I laid down on the couch with Josh playing with my hair. While he was doing that, I looked up at him, still feeling sorry for everything I had done to get-away from Jon. I had hurt the one person I loved and I had no idea how to apologize just yet.
