Chapter 36

Running through the doors, the room is huge. It's like the inside of a mega church here!

Close by, I hear the sounds of a struggle. I run closer to the sounds, and I see the phantom thieves are fighting against the mini-boss of this church, an Archangel guarding, what is actually the gym in the real world. The boss looming over us, bathed in a white glow as it's sword by it's side shines.

Joker and Panther are the only two left but they don't seem like they can keep fighting for long. They need to get out of here quick! I go to try and call out my persona, but then realize I have to call them out; I can't speak!

"....!" I quickly pulled out my notebook and a Recover-R out of my bag. Quickly scribbling on the page then ripping it out.

I run to Joker, who looks surprised that I was even here.

The surprise is short lived before he grabs me and pushes me down, out of the way of the Archangel's sword.

"Don't stand around like that!" Joker is short out of breath but still lectures me.

I shove the medicine and the piece of paper onto his chest and push him off me.

'Heal and run with everyone' Joker read out loud. He looked at me, trying to see if he can trust me. I quickly wave my hand at him to take it, if he goes down all I've done will have been for nothing!

He takes a deep breath before finally deciding to take the medicine. It being the real deal, obviously heals him a great deal to be able to pick up Skull and Mona.

"Y-you!" Panther tried running up to us but struggled and eventually tripped. She would have fallen had I not caught her.

"Let me go." Panther weakly thrashed around in my arms that it makes me almost certain that she is one hit away from a KO.

I have her stand up, reach into my bag, and grab another Recover-R. I don't have too many of these but it's better than having one less person to fight. Panther is swaying side to side, but I just shove the medicine, and lightly poke her throat, causing her to instinctively swallow. She opens her mouth to shout something but looks confused as she moves around more freely. The medicine must have worked, but so caught up in her confusion that she doesn't realize that the Archangel has now chosen her as its next target and is hurling it's sword at her. It would have hit her if I hadn't used my dual blades to block it.

Or I would say but the Archangel is so strong that the blade slid off my blades and shoved itself into the tiles, slashing my left arm open in the process.

"Panther! We've got to go!" Joker calls.

Panther is looking between the two of us, asking if they can really just leave, but Joker demands her to go.

Panther and Joker both leave, "Don't die." Joker's final words were before they left.

Dying here is really not any part of my plans here.

Now, I've got to focus up! This dude is a hard hitter and if I take too long, he'll just power up and this'll truly be an impossible fight. First things first, I summon my incubus. "Master! W-wha!" Incubus freaks out at the sight of the looming Archangel. "Tarunda!" Before anymore freak outs come from my persona, he glows and sends a debuff to the Archangel.

"No matter the obstacle, I have one objective and that is to have King Kamoshida's will prosper!" The Archangel lunges towards me in a fit of conviction.

I luckily dodged and throw Eiha at it.

The attack does a significant amount of damage so that the Archangel's armor begins to crumble in some places.
