“We're having our date at your flat?” Harry asks, surprised as Louis' familiar neighbourhood doesn't allow for any other conclusion. Louis hadn't told him anything, no matter how much he begged, and had only disappeared for a little over an hour before their date, during which Harry showered and stood nervously in front of his wardrobe. He just didn't know what to wear and he muttered angrily under his breath because Louis just didn't give him any hint.

That's why he chose a wine-red shirt with dark blue ornaments on it and black skinny jeans. He still couldn't quite convince himself to go back to his colourful and flashy clothes. His little monster just rolled his eyes at this and stomped around with his arms crossed, glaring at Harry every now and then.

Little impatient beast, Harry just thought to himself and then took care of his curls. They should fall perfectly, he knows how much Louis loves his long hair. He carefully worked some oil into them so that they weren't frizzy but instead curled glossy around his face.

And then Louis came back, looked at him with shining eyes and they almost didn't leave Harry's apartment because he couldn't keep his hands off him.

Since then they have been walking side by side through London, as always with a little distance between them, enjoying the warm evening and the setting sun. Until Harry  looks expectantly at Louis and awaits his answer.

"Yes. I thought it would be more pleasant for you if we didn't make it public," Louis says, looking at him with a little uncertainty. “I thought going to the movies or eating out is too early at this point. I hope it’s okay with you and you’re not disappointed?”

"It's perfect, thank you," Harry smiles. “Come on, let’s go upstairs. I want to kiss you for your brain and your mindfulness.”

Then suddenly something mischievous comes over Louis' face and he starts to grin broadly. “Race me! You won’t get me, I’m the quickest man in the world!”

While Harry is still standing there surprised and a little stunned with wide eyes, Louis has already run the last few metres to the entrance and damn, he is really fast.

Harry starts to giggle and run at the same time, hoping that his longer legs can catch up with Louis' lead, but Louis has already arrived at the door and throws his fist into the air in triumph. “Hah! I’m king on a 50-metre road.”

He can't stop himself from laughing and almost trips over his own feet because of it, but Louis is quick to catch him with both hands when he finally reaches him.

“What the hell was that Lou?” Harry is still laughing and shaking his head fondly.

"Short burst of energy," Louis shrugs with a grin and finally unlocks the door to the house and both hands find each other immediately as it closes behind them. There's no one in the hallway so Harry enjoys the two flights up with his favourite little hand in his.

“Okay baby, don’t expect anything spectacular. You know my apartment is small and doesn't have much space. But I still made the best effort for you,” Louis says before opening the door to his apartment.

"Don't worry, I know I'll like it," Harry replies and smiles at him, he can definitely tell that Louis is nervous.

And he really likes it. Louis transformed the entire living room. The fairy lights that he had already hung everywhere beforehand shine a soft light into the room, there are candles all around that Louis is currently lighting while Harry lets his gaze slide over everything. Louis has covered the carpet in front of the sofa with blankets and seemingly every pillow he could find, the living room table has been moved to the side and there are also candles here and a basket with things that Harry can't find out.
