After fifteen minutes of driving, the group finally arrived at the base. It's kind of big considering it's the main base. And when you see the new building, you notice that this one is not the last one you see before you leave this place.

"New base?" You ask Alejandro as you walk slightly behind his right, Rodolfo by your side while Ghost and Soap are on the left of Alejandro. "Yeah, not long after you left, we moved." You nod at his words.

He shouted some commands to his men, gesturing his hand as he did, and then he opened the door to the base.

"Make yourself comfortable. There's enough room for the three of you, so no need to share." He smiles as he gets in first, then steps aside to welcome you.

Your eyes lit up at the mention of having your own room. Once all of you get inside, Alejandro continues walking to show the room. It's not too far from the front door; at the end of the hallway, turn left, and there it is.

Two rooms on the left and three rooms on the right side. You assume the left rooms are already occupied because they're locked.

Then, without waiting, you sprint towards the room at the farthest side. Claiming it as your own. "This one is mine." You smile at the men when their confused gaze meets you that is now standing in front of the door.

"Then I'll take the middle. That's okay for you, Lt.?" Soap looked at Ghost, who only nodded in response, then he left to take the room closest to where they were standing.

"It's settled then. But we need to discuss the plan first before you guys can rest, is that alright?" The Colonel asked.

"I mean, the sooner the better, yeah?" You chimed in as you opened the door, then quickly tossing your bag inside before closing the door again and walking to Alejandro.

Soap and Ghost followed your action.

You decide to walk together with Rodolfo. Chatting between yourself and him. Alejandro leads the way as he talks some more about the building for Ghost and Soap while they silently listen.

But they can't help but look at you and Rudy from now and then because it's the first time they see you really talkative and willing to be the one to start a conversation.

Usually, back in the base, you are indeed chatty, but here, the vibes around you are different.

Not long after, all of you arrived at a room with a table in the middle and a huge map attached to the wall. There are many red strings connecting the dots on the map.

"Ah, right, when will the contractor you said arrive?" Alejandro asked as he opened a file, then placed it on the table for you all to see.

You look at Soap and Ghost while both men did the same. After that, you three shrugged. "Laswell said he's already here." Even though it is a statement, Ghost's tone is more like a question.

"He's not." Rudy said as he also placed another file on the table while shaking his head.

"Typical Graves, he likes being late; become the star of attention. Don't worry though; I'm sure he will show up just in time with the air support." You scoffed at the thought as you shrugged, then shifting your gaze to look at the file.

The guys are silently looking at you, then averting their gaze to look down at the file too. "If you say so," Alejandro said.

After that, the team begins to plan out. It's mostly Alejandro and Ghost, the ones doing the talking, while three of you are silently listening and giving a word if they say so.

After you don't know how long, the discussion finally over, and it's settled that tomorrow afternoon around 1 PM will be the perfect time to execute it.

You quickly excused yourself after the meeting was done. Suddenly feeling really exhausted and feeling the need to sleep. "Feel free to knock on my room or Rudy across from yours if you need anything." Alejandro called out, which made you stop in your tracks and glancing over your shoulder. Giving him a smile, then waving your hand.

Before you're fully out of the room, you hear Ghost saying to Soap to meet him in his room. You glance over your shoulder at the two before looking ahead again.

"What was that back in the car, Johnny?" Ghost started once Soap closed the door behind him.

"What was what, Simon?" He raised his eyebrow as his eyes looked at Ghost's.

"With the Sergeant."

"You mean (Y/N)?"

When Soap received nothing as an answer, he tilted his head at his best mate. "It's really about her, huh?" He grinned.

"And what about it? Nothing's happened in the car. We were just chatting." MacTavish continued as he shrugged, then leaned back against the wall beside the door, one hand in his pocket pants. Ghost is seated on his bed, glaring at him while crossing his arms.

"Don't act like you two didn't hold hands along the ride." He lowly speaks. His tone is calm, but Soap knows better from his mate.

"So? It's common for us. Nothing special." He answered back like it's the obvious. "What should be the question is, what is wrong with you?"

When Ghost was about to say something, Soap was quick to cut him off. "Ah ah, no." He's shaking his head at the Lt. "Don't you dare say nothing happened. I know for a fact that the one who made her cry that day was you."

Under his mask, Ghost frowned at the mention of that day. He knows what his friend means. Because back to the day, he kind of felt guilty to nearly make you pass out. But when he was about to get out of his room, Soap already beat him to it. So he keeps standing behind his door. Listen carefully when Soap keeps knocking on your door until you open them for him.

Simon finally broke his gaze from John and remained quiet.

"C'mon, Simon. You know better than this. The bonnie didn't do anything wrong with you. Hell, she even helps us out many times from mission to mission."

"Don't start with me, Johnny. That's why she's out of place."

"You are the one that is out of place, Ghost."

Ghost quickly snapped his eyes at Soap again. His eyes narrowed as he didn't believe his best mate just said that to him. "What? Did I say something wrong?"

Silence fell between the two for some seconds before MacTavish spoke again.

"I don't know why, but it seems you keep picking on her when she literally does nothing except helping us. She's even helping much with her intel. You can't justー"

"You know that much, so you know for a fact too that she's keeping so many secrets from us." The Lieutenant cuts him off when he's mentioning Intel.

Soap remains silent for a second, seemingly absorbing his words. Then suddenly he's shaking his head and chuckles. Pushing himself off from the wall.

"The Captain didn't even say anything about it. So we both know she means no harm to us." He raised his finger at him when he saw him want to interrupt his words. "No, Simon. Even after all these years with us, she didn't do anything out of place. And she won't even in the future."

"Be careful who you trust, Sergeant. People you know can hurt you the most."

"Good advice, Lt. But we can trust (Y/N)." With that, he turned around and went to the door, just as when he's holding the knob, he turned around once again to look at Ghost.

"And you better not ruin her mood because she's been better when she meets Alejandro and his friend."

They locked eyes for a moment before Soap broke eye contact and opened the door. Stepping outside. "Let's see, MacTavish." Is what he heard as he replied right after he closed the door of Ghost's room.

He internally scoffed at his mate before walking away from his room to his own.
