Alex opens the door following the meeting, pausing in the doorway as he simply smiles in return at the sight before him. He would never get used to the extra time he and Hailey got to spend together. He was never going to not cherish every single moment. There was something certainly special about the woman before him.
He had always been attracted to the simpler types, but there were certainly many layers to Hailey that he continued to discover weekly. She was a hero to him for how she stood up for those who had been harmed. She was amazing, a true fighter in how she was able to tackle the strongest criminals in the city of Chicago with ease. She commanded sympathy with everything she had been through in her own past that he was still slowly learning, to what she went through while on the job.
"I could get used to this view every day," he comments as he makes his way inside, closing the door behind him. The blinds were already closed, and that was a good thing as he was certain what would follow as his tongue traced his lips. There was one bonus to her - he could not keep his hands off of her no matter how hard he tried. Why was she so damn attractive? Why did she keep casting this never-ending spell over him? "Has anyone told you how amazing you look today? Has anyone told you how amazing you look everyday?"
"I've heard the comment a time or two while writing traffic tickets when I started," she reveals with a chuckle. That was certainly an interesting time, filled with tons of bore in not really chasing real leads or anything big. However, there were some stories that she could tell from those days of patrolling the streets. "I actually had someone try to get out of a speeding ticket by offering me a quickie. He told me that he would blow my mind. He told me it'd be the best damn experience I had in my life. I told him he could only dream of being that good."
"So how wa-"
"Do you really think that I went through with it? I don't take bribes, and there's no damn well I am sleeping with someone that I do not know. Well, I guess that's a lie considering you landed in my bed the first night you came over to my place." She then grabs his hand and pulls hm close to her, as it was clear that was going to happen based on how he had ensured the door was closed upon entering. She was not complaining, as the thought had not left her mind since it was mentioned earlier. "There's only certain boys that are the exception to that rule. I heard they are from Arizona, a guy with the biggest heart that you could ever know, and very sexy. Oh, and they like to drive very fast. Would you know who I am talking about?" She then lightly brushes her lips across his. "I heard he's also a Showman."
"Don't tell me that you are going to start calling me tha-"
"Bowman the Showman. It has a really good ring to it. You have also lived up to that nickname by some of your moves on the track. You could have a much worse nickname." The comment only was met back with an eyeroll from Alex, as he was not a fan no matter how many people stated it was a good nickname for him. He was just a simple guy that liked going fast, was very competitive, and focused on winning. He was not about making the highlight reels. Just because it rhymed, it did not mean it was the right way to go with nicknames.
"I'd rather talk about something else. Or I guess I should say doing something else. Why are you not spread across my desk yet?" She looks at him with a surprised glance, having not surprised to see him straight out with the comment. He then leans in for the kiss, running his fingers along the edge of her shirt. However, he then instantly froze as his eyes caught what was on the computer screen. Was he really seeing this? "Are you seriously looking for a job in Charlotte? Are you seriously going to move down here with me?"
"I though that was given when you asked me to be your girlfr-"
"That has a great ring to it as I cannot stop repeating it to myself. But I also thought we agreed to take things slow and wait until you were ready." Personally, he was actually glad to see the development. It would fill the void that he felt on the days they weren't together. It would allow those wants he had and desperations in wanting to always be wrapped in her arms. He was already trying to figure out a way to insure this place of employment sooner.
"I haven't accepted a job offer, or notified Hank that I am anywhere close to leaving Intelligence yet. I was just looking at possible options for when the time comes. I love what I do, and want to keep doing it even when I make the move to be with you." He then takes her hands with his own, looking into her eyes as a smile forms on his face. He knew that decision brought fears, as he worried about her getting hurt. It had already happened once. He had also saw Jay get hurt in the time they'd been friends. How was he going to handle his nerves about her?
"I would not expect anything less because I know how much you love your job. Just promise me that you will try to stay safe..." She nods her head as he leans in for yet another kiss. "Now, back to what I was saying. I figured painting the image in your head earlier would have had you ready for it when I came back. Let's face it, it's the main reason I love having you as company at work. We both know that you love it just as much as me."
