Chapter 48: A Bathroom Rescue

It was race day.

Hailey wished things were going better for Alex on-track, but that was not the case. It seemed to be another one of those days where no matter what Blake did, the car did not want to do what he wanted. Why was it so difficult to set-up a racecar to what the driver wanted?

Mid-way through, she hated it but she knew she could not hold it any longer. She made her way down the steps and headed towards the infield, ready to hit up the bathroom. She had debated hitting the row of portable bathrooms behind the pit stalls, but the smells coming from those turned her off them immediately.

She then made her way to the bathroom, going through the process any person would be used to. She washed her hands, drying them off, set to return back to the Ally pit box. Of course, a stop for another one of those great hot dogs first would be a good idea, even if the line was a little long.

"You've got a fine piece of ass," she hears coming from the bathrooms as she waits in line, catching her off-guard. Why was there a male voice coming from that direction? They shouldn't be in there.

"I think you should leave," was the response she heard a female say in return, not surprised as she would have said the same. Actually, she probably would have kicked him in the balls on the way out of the bathroom.

"I can see what he sees in you and why he keeps you around." Now she was intrigued by the commentary, knowing the meaning behind those words. Was this girl set to cheat on her husband? Was this guy making these remarks for a reason? What was she overhearing? "I'm surprised he has not popped more babies out of you. It's probably because he's too busy racing around the country. But a girl with that fine of an ass who can shot gun a beer is very impressive."

"Thank you for the compliment, I guess, but I really think you should leave." Everything was telling Hailey she should step out of the line, even though she was almost at the counter, and make her way inside the bathroom to ensure everything was okay. The fact she had asked this man to leave twice was a sure sign that he was not supposed to be there, or someone she wanted to see. It was becoming too many red flags to ignore.

"Oh come on. Aren't you going to let me touch that fine piece of ass-"

"How about you fuck off?!?"

Hailey knew what was all she needed to hear as she immediately darted out of the line, despite being third person back from the counter, and headed back into the bathroom. It was clear that this girl wanted no part of the person that was in the bathroom with her, and she wasn't about to let it go further without doing something.

"Chicago Police Department Intelligence Unit!" She yells as she makes her way inside, knowing it'd grab his attention. Either he'd laugh in her face at the mention of an officer being there from Chicago, or he'd demand proof of her badge - which she could not produce as she left that back at her condo in Chicago. But either way, it'd distract him from the woman he was trying to pursue which wanted no part of him.

The laughter was what she got in response, as he turned around to look at her, scanning her from head to toe.

"Oh great, I have Larson's bitch and Bowman's bitch in here together," the guy comments, bringing a mix of thoughts to Hailey's face as she looked towards the female.

She had seen her before a couple times while hanging out with Alex, and now it made total sense. She should have actually recognized her sooner in having spent time together earlier that year at 34 Raceway before everything happened.

Though the remark Bowman's bitch had her thinking a mix of thoughts. How had she gotten that tagline? Where did that come from? Worst of all, it was degrading in just being referenced that way. She was much more than that as she was a badass Chicago Police Department Detective who had taken down much more worse guy than this.

She also repeated Hank's words in saying, "You should never put yourself in the public eye. It ruins potential for future undercover operations." What would he think of this? Would that be the end of her time at Intelligence before she even made a decision of her own? How would it affect her future career opportunities?

"You can laugh and degrade my ass, but I will have you on the ground faster than the next words can slip out of your damn mouth," she snaps back at the guy, who had his eyes locked on her. At least she had taken the attention off of Kaitlyn as she had intended by entering the bathroom.

"I think I would enjoy you being on top of me," the guy comments back in response with a smirk on his face as he begins to close the gap that remained between him and Hailey.

It was quicker than Kaitlyn probably would have predicted, but it was done right by the book. She grabbed his right arm, hooking it behind his back as she shoved him up against the wall in front of her. She then pulled him back away from it, slamming him towards it once again, keeping him held in place.

"You are probably enjoying this more than you should, but you won't be enjoying it when it's getting done to you by another man behind bars where you are going to rot," she whispers in his ear. She knew the additional comment was not necessary, but was not afraid of taking a page from her boss' book in this case as this is a guy that certainly deserved it. "Kaitlyn, could you please go alert track staff that there is an individual being held in the bathroom that should be arrested?"
