Guys this chapter was written in freaking march i think i'm finally posting it gosh darn it
Scar never hated Grian.
Surprise! Well.. It certainly didn't feel like it was a surprise.
He feels although his relationship with Grian hasn't changed all that much. Sure, they'd gone from best friends over to.. He doesn't exactly know what, but Grian always had those phases where he pushed everyone away. He'd always come back later and they'd forgive him. It's not his fault.
Even though Scar knows this is different. Scar knows this is different, because Grian isn't pushing everyone away: He's pushing Scar away. And he knows this is different, because Grian actually had a reason to think that he hates him.
.;Except for the fact that Scar doesn't.
He then proceeds to apply some cream on top of his scars, something about how it'd stop the itching- Scar does't care, he just likes how the crream is like slime, and slides off his hands and he has to catch it before it's wasted on the floor. It's like a game!
He looks at himself- I look stupid, is what he tells himself- and feels content enough to go to school. He doesn't particularly care what he looks like- Mostly because he can't look at himself in the mirror, but.. He doesn't care all that much. Really.
It's just that The Scars That'll Never Fade Remind Him.
It's.. Not like it was traumatic for Scar. He just remembers a few sparkles and a white ceiling- A big, overtaking pain that makes him throw up all his organs in the toilet, as he begs for some help, there's no one to help, he's alone- And that's basically it. After that, life took a normal flow again. He met Cub, some new guy in class, and he was pretty awesome.
And then Grian stopped talking to him. And then Grian ran away from him like he was some monster.
It's fine, really. He- He's actually the one that asked the teacher to put him and Grian up in a group at the start of the year- She didn't listen, something about getting to choose the right people and not wanting to start any kind of drama in class. But back then, they were the ones to choose the groups. And, Scar thanks her endlessly that she ended up remembering when she actually did assign them groups.
Doesn't mean it hurts any less, how Grian lost all his color, as soon as the teacher said their names. Doesn't mean it hurts any less, when Grian finally spoke up to him after about a year. Doesn't mean it hurts any less, when he sees Grian crying out loud to Mumbo after art class.
Doesn't mean it hurts any less, when he says that the world's theirs, and Grian proceeds to ignore it.
Doesn't mean it hurts any less, when Scar loves Grian.
«SCAR! WE'LL BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!»
-
Scar enters art class pretty early. His math teacher hadn't been here today so he had quite some time before art started. He's alone in the classroom. Pretty fair, class starts in about 20 minutes.
So, what he does, is he sits down and looks at messages on his phone. None from Grian. A few from Cub- Mumbo's sent him a message- and that was about it. He'll go ahead and play flappy bird.
«-Hi Scar.» He hears a voice calling for him- Hopes grow in his chest for it to be one of his friends but- No, it's Tubbo. «Hey Toby, what are you doing here?» «Well, the Capybara army of middle schoolers were running after me- Sunny being in the lead, that fucking traitor-» «Toby-» «Tallulah following close by! Like, what? I thought they hated each other, no? No, that was so last year- And Chayanne, that prick-- Apparently, they'd stolen the capybaras from Leo- Which, will get them in so much trouble, I'm not dealing with Foolish later and even less Vegetta-»
