Winter vacation is in two weeks.
Well, that's what Matteo told me earlier today.
It's been six weeks since I've moved to this school, and almost five weeks since Matteo decided he didn't hate me. Since then, we've actually gotten along strangely well.
He actually talks to me now, and doesn't glare at me anymore.
We actually talk a lot now, honestly more so than I talk with Grayson or Luca. I don't exactly know why, but I find myself really liking his company.
Anyways, one of our conversations earlier today led to the upcoming end of the semester, which eventually led to the topic of Winter vacation.
I think I've been so caught up with adjusting to school as well as trying to catch up with work, that I sort of forgot about it.
I think my dad forgot about it too.
I don't really know what I was expecting. In fact, I wasn't even expecting him to do anything at all.
It's my sister's lack of word that actually hurt.
But it's okay, maybe she just forgot. Or maybe she just doesn't even know that breaks soon.
Yeah, that's probably it.
I nod to myself with a self-reassuring smile. Any minute now I'll probably be getting a call from my sister, asking me back home.
Setting my phone on the table beside my bed, I wait patiently, knowing that in any moment I'll be getting a phone call.
The door opens.
"Cecilia?" Matteo's voice calls. "What are you doing?" He's staring at me, face furrowed.
"Waiting." I answer him.
"For...?"
"My sister to call."
"Ah," he nods, but when he walks past my bed, he still has a puzzled look on his face.
My phone buzzes. I shoot up in my bed, hand reaching out so fast it hits my lamp and almost knocks it off. I eagerly flit my eyes over the screen, only to completely deflate in disappointment when I actually read the notification.
It's just the period tracker on my phone.
Sighing, I toss my phone back onto my nightstand, throwing myself back onto my pillows.
"You alright over there?" Matteo reluctantly asks from across the room.
"No." I moan into my pillows, feeling completely defeated.
"Whys that?" I hear him shuffling.
"My sister won't call me."
"Okay....?"
