A/n: reading your guys' comments sometimes genuinely has me kicking my feet and giggling. <33

"Bye guys," Cecilia says sadly, standing beside me as she waves at Luca and Gray.
They wave their hands back, their faces just as sad. Grayson's been sad for the last two days straight though, so it's not much of a difference. My guess is it has something to do with him storming out during breakfast the other day.
"I'll miss you," Luca tells her dramatically, holding a hand over his heart in show. Grayson nods his head in glumly.
Alex claps me on the back of my shoulder. "You sure you don't want to run up and pack a quick bag and come with me and my family?"
I hold back an eye roll. "Yes, I'm sure. I don't know about you, but my dream Christmas break plans aren't imposing on my friend and his family."
"You won't be impos-"
"Seriously, Alex." I step back. "I mean it. I'm fine here for Christmas."
He gives me a long hesitant look.
"Geez, any longer and I'm going to start actually thinking you care about me."
"Never," he scoffs.
A smirk cracks onto my face, and I clap him on the shoulder, the same way he did to me. "See you in two weeks.
He lifts his chin. "See you." He climbs into the back of his father's fancy black car. Through the tinted windows, I catch a tiny glimpse of his mother and father. His mom has the happiest smile on her face, but his father, just like his son, wears the same expressionless look. When I squint though, real hard, a tiny, happy glint becomes visible through his eyes.
Slowly, I watch their car disappear, the sight of Alex with it.
"Bye Matteo!" Luca shouts loudly, waving his arms exaggeratedly. "I'll miss you!"
"I already miss you, Teo." Grayson wipes a fake tear from his eye, then blows me a kiss.
I snarl and pretend to gag. "I won't miss you guys," I call back, watching their faces fall.
"Hey!"
I lift a shoulder.
Grayson's mom rolls down the window and starts barking at him to hurry, to which he replies a small, "sorry mum," to before obediently crawling into the passenger seat. He air kisses me again, and waves long and hard at Cecilia before his car too leaves. Luca's father's car soon follow behind them.
