Ladrín was carrying a small brown egg in her hands. She had been tasked with bringing the egg to Farthen Dûr and King Orik. Before her Orik and his wife Hvedra sat on stone thrones. Just then a dwarf warrior rushed in on a pony, knocking the egg out of Ladrín's hand. She recognized the young man as Shrôdren, Orik and Hvedra's nephew. For a moment, the egg was flying through the air, but then Shrôdren caught it and she let out the breath she'd been holding and relaxed. She went to go retrieve the egg from Shrôdren, but she noticed the egg was split open with cracks. She gasped as a little grey hatchling popped out from the egg. Orik and Hvedra were so happy that they cried. On Shrôdren's hand was the gedwëy ignasia. She too was crying for joy. It was a male dragon. Then Shrôdren announced that his dragon's name was now "Korda", which means hammer in dwarvish. Shrödren was a Rider and Korda was his dragon.
