Four days before the half moon, Arya was flying on Fírnen's back over the Ramr River and she could make out two dark shapes along the bank. The larger shape let out a roar. It was no other than Eragon and Saphira. Then Saphira took off and ascended till she was slightly above Fírnen. Eragon shouted to Arya and she shouted back. Arya felt the slightest touch from Eragon as he tried to check her identity. The two dragons were chasing each other's tails and circled around each other, Saphira climbing a little higher over Fírnen, then they started chasing each other through the air until they reached the Ramr River. It was mid afternoon still when the dragons arrived on the ground. Eragon was surprised by Fírnen, as he was a medium sized emerald dragon, so she explained she had wanted to raise Fírnen in secret until he could protect himself in the world. Fírnen greeted Eragon by saying," I am glad to meet you, Eragon-friend-Shadeslayer." Both Riders tore off the saddle straps holding them to their seats and hopped to the floor. Eragon was surprised by the diadem on her forehead and as to why she was riding on a green dragon, so she recounted the events leading up to this moment. She and Eragon watched and talked as their dragons told stories to the other about their hunting and adventures. Arya commented to Eragon,"They seem to have taken to each other." Eragon responded with, "That they have." Then Saphira bit Fírnen, but Arya was not upset, Saphira was testing him, to see how if he could be her mate. So she told Fírnen that to earn Saphira's respect, he had to bite her back. The dragons roughhoused and playfully fought. Then they danced together through the air in a mating manner, and then snuggled together for a while. Eragon grabbed a stone and murmured a few words, and as he went to smash the stone, she interfered and caught the stone in her hands. In the ancient language she offered to Eragon the chance to learn her true name. He accepted, and in turn he offered his own name to her and she gave a small nod. He asked what had become of their relationship, but she didn't know and said maybe in time. He said that they had no time. Arya asked what he meant. He explained Nasuada's plan for keeping tabs on every spellcaster that was human and his troubles with finding a safe place for the eggs and Eldunarí and solution to the problem of leaving Alagaësia. He asked if she and Fírnen would come with, but she remembered her duties and crown, so she refused with tears in her eyes, and clutched the fairth from Eragon. At least they still had some time left together.
