A few hours later after the fight, Molly is currently bedridden in the infirmary, being visualized by one of the scientists of the military and Maria's half-nephew, Dr. Julian Snively.
"Alright, Half-Aunt." He began to Maria. "The good news is, she is just exhausted from overexertion. Her body is highly dehydrated, but a few IV fluids and plenty of water should help her recover. She needs rest, a lot of it. I've also done a thorough examination of her physical condition. There are no signs of any serious injury or illness."
"Are there bad news?"
"Well," Snively sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "The bad news is, the stress and trauma she's been under recently is taking a toll on her mental health. Had you not intervened, she would've overworked herself to death.""That bad?"
"I'm afraid so. Her stress levels are abnormally high, and she's showing signs of severe anxiety and possible PTSD. She's going to need psychological help, and soon. I recommend seeking professional help as soon as possible."
"I don't know if psychology is gonna help, we already tried to tell her, but she's," Maria groaned angrily before continuing. "She's just so stubborn!""Her stubbornness may be part of her coping mechanism." Snively reasoned. "Admitting she needs help may make her feel weak, which is something she's desperately trying to avoid. It's not going to be easy to convince her, but it's necessary for her recovery. And aside needing to talk about her feelings and confronting them, she also needs a shower."
"Snively."
"I'm just stating facts. She's been training all day. She needs to rest, eat, hydrate and clean up. Do you think you can convince her to do that?"
"I'll try..." Maria sighed, her gaze falling on Molly's sleeping form. "Thank you, Half-Nephew."After she conveniently spoke, Team Dark barged in, their expressions a mix of concern and relief upon seeing Molly safe, albeit unconscious.
"Maria, how is she?" Shadow asked, his voice filled with worry. Maria looked at them, her eyes filled with a mix of relief and worry. "She's going to be okay." she reassured them, her gaze returning to Molly. "She just needs time.""Shadow, do you copy?" Shadow's watch suddenly beeped, pulling him away from his thoughts. He stepped away from the group to answer the call.
"This is Shadow, go ahead." he responded, keeping his gaze on Molly. He listened to the voice on the other end, his expression hardening as the news was relayed to him."Shadow?" Brave asked worriedly, noticing Shadow's change of expression.
"It's Eclipse. He said that the blue hedgehog wants to see us about something.""Alright. Let's go see what Big Blue wants." Rouge decided. "Omega, think you can stay with Maria and watch over Molly while we're gone?"
"Affirmative. I will stay here and ensure her safety. Proceed with the mission." Omega responded, taking a protective stance by Molly's bedside. With that, the team left the infirmary, leaving Maria and Omega with the still unconscious Molly. When Team Dark arrived, they were slightly surprised when they saw Sonic talking to Eclipse in the meeting room, along with Blaze.
"Heh. What took ya so long?" Sonic asked with a smirk on his face. "Did you guys get lost or something?" His light-hearted comment was met with annoyed glares from Shadow and Brave, while Rouge and Darkness just rolled her eyes.
"You better not have called us here for nothing, Sonic." Shadow replied, crossing his arms over his chest. "What's so important that you had to interrupt us?"
