Keiko Tanaka

Keiko Tanaka/Penumbra : Keiko Emi Tanaka (恵子 田中恵美) is a Black kite who is the true identity of the infamous master thief, known as "Penumbra".

Personality:
Keiko tends to have a calm and reserved demeanor, rarely drawing attention to herself. She prefers to handle things quietly and efficiently, avoiding unnecessary trouble or noise whenever possible.

As her alter ego, the elusive thief known as Penumbra, she becomes a master of stealth and strategy as she is proven to be clever, street-smart, and calculating. Her reputation for stealing priceless artifacts across the globe is bolstered by her near-silent approach during heists, where she never utters a word and slips in and out without a trace.

Highly intelligent in both her civilian life and as Penumbra, Keiko mostly applies her intellect to her criminal endeavors, particularly when planning escapes or outwitting security systems. In everyday life, however, she keeps that brilliance under wraps.

Though typically composed, she’s known for her sharp tongue and dry wit, especially when someone disrupts her focus. Her sarcasm often surfaces in response to annoyance, adding an edge to her usually stoic presence.

Keiko maintains a close working relationship with bounty hunter Thiago Contreras, often teaming up for well-paid jobs. She’s frequently exasperated by his overconfidence, rolling her eyes at his antics or poking fun at his plans. Still, beneath the snark, she genuinely cares about him and considers him something of a brother figure, which Thiago reciprocates.

While she may appear aloof, Keiko isn't heartless. She can be polite, even friendly, in casual settings, and she’s shown emotional depth when it matters. Despite her skill in combat, she avoids violence unless absolutely necessary, a principle instilled in her by her parents.

Gadgets/Equipment:
Naturally, Keiko possesses a variety of spy equipment to aid her while during her heists. Due to being a ninja-like criminal, she also owns a variety of ninja weapons, though she mostly uses Shuriken.

Appearance:
Described as beautiful and attractive, to the point that people mistook her for being a model due to her good looks, Keiko is a slender and pear-shaped Black kite. Similar to her type of species, her feathers sported a brown-white color scheme; her face having a gradient of white-to-light brown with darker-colored specks, and she also has a large yellow-and-black beak, and tail feathers that are the same color as her face, though being dark brown-striped with a singular thicker stripe on the sides. Her wings are mostly dark brown but with a bit of white, and she also has a dark brown coloring on her eyes' lower-eyelids.

Her feathers also formed long, dark chocolate-brown hair which are kept into two bun styles; a tight bun when posing as Penumbra, and a looser bun with slightly voluminous bangs which covers parts of her left eye and eyebrow in her normal look.

Her eyes themselves are a sanpaku-shaped very dark brown with long and thick eyelashes protruding from them, while her brows are thin and arched, and are also a dark brown color.

Keiko also wore makeup which consists of thick mascara and subtle black eyeliner.

Clothing:
As Penumbra:
As Penumbra, Keiko wears stealthy attire that resembles that of a ninja, and it sported an almost all-black color scheme with tints of white and dark purple; she wears a full-length, high-collared, tight-fitting black hooded stealth-suit with a thick white "V" shape on the front, a black utility belt with a thin dark buckle around her waist, and bracers and thigh-high boots which are made from dark purple wraps.

Her suit is designed for people to not recognize her, as her tail feathers are completely hidden. During heists, she has her hood over her head, and she wore her signature white mask with pupil-less dark purple eyes that has a streak across each eye, and a muzzle-like stripe colored in a slightly brighter shade of purple. Together, these features completely cover her face.

As a civilian:
Keiko's civillian attire consists of a fitted black turtleneck, high-waisted dark purple loose dress pants, and black high-heeled ankle boots. She also accessorizes with a simple golden necklace.

Trivia:
• She is inspired by Diane Foxington/The Crimson Paw from The Bad Guys, mainly the part with Diane's secret about being a former criminal, and her suit is loosely inspired Ghost Spider, though the mask  loosely inspired by Big Mama's assistant from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
• She is British-Japanese.

• She used to be a ballerina.
• She has a bit of a sweet tooth.
• Her favorite food is eggplant-based.
