CHAPTER TWELVE: VILLAINS & REVENGE

After his run in with Kaitlyn, Klaus went back to the Mikaelson mansion full of rage. He couldn't understand how he could have done this--how could he turn her into an original and give her a weapon that could kill him and his family. There was no way he would do that—or so he thought.

Now, he was stood in the living room with a canvas and paint to let his frustrations out. A knock sounded at his door making the hybrid sigh and set his brush down. He made his way to the door and opened it to see Jeremy Gilbert. "Can i come in?" Jeremy didn't wait before shoving past the man.

"Yes, just let yourself in." Klaus replied with sarcasm and shut the door as he followed Jeremy into the living room. "What can i do for you?"

"You could leave my sister alone." Jeremy turns to face him, no fear on his face, which intrigued Klaus.

"I haven't been near Elena, mate." Klaus walked past him and sat down on the couch.

"We both know that i don't mean Elena. I mean Kaitlyn." Jeremy told him as he followed suit and sat down across from him. "You know, i didn't know it at first. When i asked Kaitlyn what happened with you guys, she said that you just didn't feel the same but i recently found out that was not the case. Instead you erased her memories of you. You did that to try and protect her."

Klaus smiled, although it didn't reach his eyes, and let a small eye roll at Jeremy's little speech. "So i've been told. All i've been hearing is, Kaitlyn this and Kaitlyn that. I'm sick of hearing her name. Whatever involves your sister, i can assure you that i have no interest."

"Did she tell you that you almost proposed to her?" That made Klaus pause his movements and look at the Gilbert boy. "You and her were in Paris. It was her birthday."

"Why didn't i?" Klaus asked, his mind getting a little lost in what Jeremy was saying. Propose? Klaus didn't even think about ever proposing to anyone in his life and yet Jeremy was telling him that he almost proposed to his sister?

"I don't fully know. Kaitlyn didn't talk about it too much. She was...heartbroken. She's never loved anyone before you. I remember you once told me that you could actually see a good future for yourself as long as my sister was still in it. You said you could see yourself being happy and truly wanted because you never felt that way with your family." Klaus stared as Jeremy as he continued on, "I know that you don't remember any of this but like it or not, i know you. I spent time with you and Kaitlyn in New York and i'll tell you right now, if you had your memories right now? You would destroy yourself for hurting her."

Klaus clenched his jaw and shook his head slightly. It was like he has two different devils on his shoulders. One being his mother: who talked about wanting Kaitlyn dead and how she disrupted natures balance by becoming an original. The other being, well, everyone else really. Everyone saying that Kaitlyn was good and that he cared about her more than anything but he just didn't remember.

He was stubborn and every time he felt the slightest thing about her, he forced it back down. Maybe, deep down, he didn't want his memories back because that would make him weak.

He knew he was hurting her and he was trying to push her away. When his mother came back and his memories were lost, Klaus was bloodthirsty. He was ready to kill Kaitlyn but Elijah had stopped him and since then, he's been torturing her emotionally. Whenever she was around, he would be laughing with Caroline Forbes or flirting with any woman around him. He knew that it would hurt her and maybe she would give up on him but she hasn't and it frustrated him to no end.

"Look, Klaus, I don't owe you this. I know you don't care right now and that's fine but there's probably something you should know in the odd case that you want your memories back." Klaus sat up and leaned forward, curious to what Jeremy was gonna tell him, what could he say to make him want those memories back?

Kaitlyn walked through the hallways of the hospital, Elena told her that Meredith Fell came to her and told her about some missing blood bags

Kaitlyn walked through the hallways of the hospital, Elena told her that Meredith Fell came to her and told her about some missing blood bags. So, Elena asked Kaitlyn if she could check it out and compel information out of the doctors if they seen anyone or anything lately. She needed something to distract her mind that didn't involve Klaus.

"Kaitlyn?" Cue the distraction. Kaitlyn turned at her name being said and saw Zeke making her stand there in shock. "Hey."

"Zeke?" She was quite speechless at seeing him here. Last she saw him was back in New York. When Klaus first compelled her memories away, she met Zeke on campus, he was coming to speak about the hospital and medical aspect of things. Zeke was older by a few years but the two were kind of seeing each other and sleeping around until Kaitlyn turned into a vampire and got her memories back and moved home. "What are you doing here?" She was confused as she looked at him in his usual scrubs and lab coat.

Zeke chuckled at the shock on her face before looking back up at her, "I got a job offer here."

"And you took it?" Kaitlyn asked with wide eyes. "Why? New York was amazing and you were do for a promotion. Oh god, the promotion. What happened?" Zeke grinned and pointed at his lab coat, where his name was printed, underneath it being 'Chief of Staff.' Kaitlyn smiled as she read it and looked up at him. "You got it?" He nodded with a grin as Kaitlyn practically jumped into his arms to hug him. "Congratulations, Zeke. That's so amazing."

The two pulled away, Zeke's hands resting on her waist as Kaitlyn's shock was replaced with excitement for the man. "Thank you. I'm very excited."

"Well now I'm even more curious as to why you took the job here, there is no way they are paying you better than they would have in New York." Kaitlyn told him with a slight chuckle.

"You want the truth?" He asked her making her nod her head. "When i got the job offer, they told me it was a temporary position and that my job back in New York would be waiting for me when i was done here. I took the job so that i could see you." Kaitlyn's lips parted as he said the last sentence. He took a job in Mystic Falls to see her? Kaitlyn had no words after that, she didn't even know what she was supposed to say. "It's a lot to take in, i know. Maybe, i can take you out for dinner or maybe coffee?"

MEANWHILE

"Well, now we're here and it shouldn't be too long before we can finally take down Klaus Mikaelson and his little girlfriend, Kaitlyn." A man said as he and a woman stood in an hotel room.

"You're not worried?" Her Irish melodic voice asked the vampire that stood by the window.

"Why would i be worried?" He asked the witch, glancing back at her.

"We're dealing with the original hybrid, over a thousand years old and his girlfriend who, yes, is new but she's also an original now." The woman pointed out to the man but he waved it off.

"With your power and my age and strength, do they really stand that much of a chance? Not to mention who we also have on our side if things don't go our way?" He asked her with a smirk on his handsome face. "It's time for Klaus to die and Kaitlyn along with him." The woman walked up to the man with two glasses and handed him one, the two cheers before taking a sip and begin the plotting.
