"You know that she's a vampire now? So, she remembers who you are? It's been over a year, Klaus. She doesn't love you. You can't actually think that after you erased her memories that she's just gonna come running back into your arms, do you?"

Kaitlyn could feel her body get weaker each day that went on without blood. She could feel her body start to desiccate. She could hear footsteps approaching from outside and stood up, her arm pressed against the wall for support as she walked forward. Her face grew confused as the man stood before her. "Elijah?"
"Hello, Kaitlyn." The original nodded at her, one hand was in his pant pocket, keeping a good distance from the threshold.
"How did you-" Kaitlyn started but stopped herself as she watched Elijah's facial expression stay the same. Cold. "Well, this explains why Damon said he couldn't tell me why he put me in here. You god damn mikaelsons and compulsion." Kaitlyn scolded as she thought back to Klaus' offer to her.
"Yes, i do apologize for that." Elijah said to her but she wasn't moved by his apology. "I hope you understand that it's not my intention to hurt you."
Kaitlyn scoffed as the certainty of his words, "You are very particular with your words, Elijah. I'm not hurt, not yet. I would love to understand why you orchestrated to lock me in here though."
Elijah tilted his head in curiosity, "Has Niklaus not mentioned his plan to you?" Kaitlyn looked at him, forcing her face to stay the same as Elijah continued on. "What do you know about how my siblings and i became vampires?"
"I know everything. Rebekah and Jeremy both filled me in on what your parents did." Kaitlyn responded back to him.
"That is what Niklaus wanted to do to you." Elijah told her which made her freeze. "He had the spell my mother had used on us and he wanted to use it on you. He figured it was the only way for you to know that he could never compel you."
Kaitlyn eyed the original as he finished telling her Klaus' plan. "Are you gonna let me out of here or what?" She asked him, avoiding talking further about the spell. Elijah said nothing which made the girl sigh, "Can i at least ask you for a favour?"
"I'm listening." He nodded at her to continue.
"Tell Nik...thank you for the mockingbird. I never got the chance to thank him. Please, Elijah. If you're still gonna keep me in here, at least tell him so he can move on to what comes next." Kaitlyn begged him with a small sense of urgency. Nik needed to know and she hoped that Elijah would follow through. "Give me your word."
"I am sorry." For the first time, Elijah had a sympathetic look on his face as he looked to her. "But i will need something in return for the favour." Elijah stepped forward and looked into the girls eyes as he began to compel her. "Forget about Niklaus. Everything that the two of you shared. You had a great love but he broke your heart. It's time to move on. You will be able to leave here at midnight tonight and when you do, you will leave mystic falls forever. You will simply disappear. No texts or calls to your family or friends or anyone. You will start a new life. Find someone new to love."
Kaitlyn had a dazed look in her eyes, her lips parting and her heart feeling like it was closing in. It was like her whole body was in shock. Elijah sighed and walked out of the tomb, leaving the girl there alone with her empty thoughts.
