CHAPTER FOURTEEN: WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Kaitlyn was seething after last night. She was up pretty much all night thinking about what happened between her, Klaus and Zeke. How dare Klaus step in like that after everything that's happened? How was that fair to her? Especially after how hard she's been trying to help and figure everything out.

Kaitlyn marched up to the Mikaelson mansion, not even knocking, storming inside with anger fueled inside her. "Klaus!"

"You Gilbert's just love to help yourself inside my home." Klaus commented from his spot on the couch as Kaitlyn walked in further.

"What the hell was that yesterday?" She asked him with a glare send in his direction.

"I don't know what you mean." Klaus shrugged dismissively with a book in his hand. Kaitlyn clenched her jaw and stepped forward, slapping the book out of his hand. "Seriously?" He sighed in frustration and stood up but Kaitlyn stayed put.

"Oh, boo hoo. Seriously, Klaus, what was that last night? In case you've forgotten again, we are not together. You don't get to do what you did." Kaitlyn could see the annoyance in the back of Klaus' eyes which only made her more angry and sad.

"Everything I said last night was true. We technically never did quite break up." He grinned at her with a smugness on his face that Kaitlyn wanted to slap off.

"Okay, stop." She sighed and closed her eyes. "You can't be wanting to kill me one day and then the next, you're my boyfriend. You either want me or you don't. I'm sick of sitting around and waiting for your memory to come back. I'm tired of waiting for the man i love to love me back again." Kaitlyn managed to hold it together and denied her voice from betraying her as she spoke. Klaus' eyes held so many emotions that couldn't be read.

"Elijah is out there trying to find a way to get your memories back and you're sitting here as if you don't even care to want them back." Kaitlyn argued with the man before shaking her head. "Do you?"

"I don't know." Klaus replied honestly and Kaitlyn bit her lip to keep her tears at bay and nodded.

"If you don't want your memories or me, then leave me alone." Kaitlyn said to him and stormed out of his house. Once she got outside, she paused her movements, his words sinking deep inside her chest. Before Kaitlyn could let out what she was feeling, two hands reached for her head and snapped her neck.

-

The girls screams were heard as sun shined through the curtain that was pulled back. Kaitlyn was currently tied to a chair, her daylight ring was gone, her captors burning her in the sun. Kaitlyn knew that she couldn't die, so did her captors, but that didn't help with the pain of her burning skin.

The man holding the curtain closed it once again making the girl sigh in relief. "I'm gonna ask you again, Kaitlyn, where is the white oak stake?"

"I'm gonna kill you." The veins under her eyes crawled as she glared at the man across from her.

"You?" He scoffed and crossed his arms. "See, your boyfriend, i would believe he would kill me but not you. You think you're stronger than you are but you're not. You're weak."

Kaitlyn dug her nails into the vervain soaked ropes that bounded her wrists. It sizzled her skin but she clenched her jaw as she tried to ignore it. "If i'm so weak, why did you need to bound me, take my daylight ring and have a bodyguard with you? Afraid you can't beat me all by yourself?"

The man glared at her and pulled the curtain open once again making Kaitlyn scream in pain. He ignored her screams and looked to the female that stood away from them and watched. "Do a locator spell and find me that damn white oak stake." The girl nodded and left the room, leaving the man to continue his torture.

-

Bonnie gasped as she had this odd feeling inside her. Jeremy, who sat next to her, sat up from his bed and looked at her. "Bonnie, what's wrong?"

Bonnie furrowed her eyebrows before rushing to grab her bag. She dug in it before she pulled out a folded map and took it out. A small trail of blood had been moving around it, searching for something, searching for the stake. "You need to call Klaus and Kaitlyn. Now."

Jeremy looked at the girl with curious eyes before he nodded and tried his sister first.

--

Kaitlyn had her head down, her hands and feet still bounded to the chair, the girl from earlier walked in but Kaitlyn didn't move. The girl walked around her, unsure if she was awake or not. The sounds of her feet was annoying Kaitlyn, "What do you want, Zoe?" She snapped at the girl and lifted her head up to look at her. She had overheard Zoe and the man, Boyce, speaking about her.

"There's something i don't really understand." Zoe said to Kaitlyn but Kaitlyn just wore a bored expression on her face. "My brother thinks that Klaus has the stake, although, he thinks you know where it is."

"Your brother is an idiot." Kaitlyn said to the girl with a shrug.

"Sometimes." Zoe chuckled and nodded before her eyes trained heavily on Kaitlyn. "The thing is, i found the stake." Kaitlyn still showed no emotion, not letting her eyes give anything away, "Klaus' stake. I was this close to giving up until i felt this...resistance. There's more than one and if the one Klaus had was so easy to find, no magic hiding it, who could be smart enough to have the other stake and use magic to keep it hidden?"

Kaitlyn raised her eyebrow as if she had no idea what this girl was talking about but Zoe continued, "I think that person is you. My brother thinks you're weak and not very smart but i've realized that he's wrong. You may not have the experience of vampirism but you have the brains."

"I'd thank you but you and your brother have been torturing me so i'm not in a thankful mood right now." Kaitlyn smiled sarcastically at her, "Besides, i'm gonna be out of here pretty soon. Surprisingly, your brother really sucks at tying rope, i can get out of these."

Zoe's face paled, "What?" Not even thinking, Zoe walked forward to check on the ropes that bounded her hands, she watched her brother tie the girl and they were tight. The minute Zoe reached for the rope around her hand, Kaitlyn gripped it in her and pulled the girl close to her, her fangs digging in the girls neck. Zoe screamed in pain from Kaitlyn's fangs piercing her skin and gained her energy back the more she drank. Not drinking all of her blood, but enough to make her weak, Kaitlyn dropped the girl's body watching it fall.

Kaitlyn sighed, feeling her energy coming back and her body healing. She rocked side to side and used her strength to make the wooden chair she was on fall over and shatter. With slight pain from the ropes, the hissing when she unwrapped it from her hands and ankles, she managed to get out and stand up. Unfortunately, her daylight ring was still gone and it was daylight out still.

What the hell was she supposed to do now?
