Sunn Saathiyaa

The moment is interrupted by a knock. Ishan jumps up to see Mayank standing at the doorway. Mayank just gives Ishan a mischievous smile and moves towards Shubman who is looking at him strangely.

Mayank introduces himself with a wink in Ishan's way he says, "Toh aap Shubman hain, bohot suna hai aapke baare mein. Main Mayank Ishu ka dost." (So you are Shubman, I've heard a lot about you. Myself Mayank, Ishan's friend.)

From the moment he heard the name Mayank from Ishan's mouth, he doesn't like this boy. As Mayank extends his hand for a handshake, Shubman ignores it and tells Ishan that he has to meet his family too and moves to leave. But not before engulfing Ishan in a hug. Shubman was not the possessive kind, he just didn't like that he could have been replaced.

As soon as Shubman leaves, Mayank starts hooting and whistling. Ishan slaps him, "Kyun shor macha raha hai?" (Why are you making so much noise?)

Mayank replies, "Ab mujhe tere mera Shubi, mera Shubi waali kahani nahi sunni padegi. Main aazaad hoon ab isliye." ( Now I won't have to listen your Shubman's stories. I am free finally.)

Ishan just shakes his head in exasperation and asks Mayank, "Waise tu yahan achaanak itni subah kyun aaya?" (Anyways what are you doing here at this hour?)

Mayank replies being dramatic, "Haan haan ab toh mera aana bura hi lagega. Dheere dheere tu mujhe bhul jaayega aur Meera bhi shaadi karke jaa rahi hai. Aur main yahan akela reh jaaunga." (Yeah yeah now you won't like me coming. Slowly you will forget me and and Meera will be married off. And I would be left lonely as ever.)

Ishan doesn't know how he handled his dramatic friend for so long.

Shubman arrives at his home and sees his family sitting in the living room. He enters and spreads his arm, "Arre main itne saal baad yahan aaya hoon aur aap sab ko koi parwah hi nahi." (I've come back after so many years and you all don't even care.)

Keart turns around to see her son, her Shubi standing at the door. She immediately runs to hug him but then realises she has to act angry. Instead she twists his ear as Shubman just grins at her afterall he missed this for so long.

Sunaina chirps in, "Hume parwah nahi yaa tumhe parwaah nahi. Tu hi toh sabse pehle bhaag ke Suchitra ke ghar gaya." (We don't care or You don't. You only ran to Suchitra's house first.)

Shubman moves to touch every elders's feet and replies Sunaina, "Ab chaachi socha ghar aaunga toh thak ke aaram karne lagunga toh socha jaake mil aaun." ( Aunty I thought I will start resting and being lazy if I come home so why not go and meet them first.)

Keart also nods in agreement as she says pulling Shubman's cheek, "Aur vaise bhi Sunaina, Shubi ke jaane par sabse jyaada Ishu roya tha..bechara kitne din tak na sota tha na khaata tha. Sabse pehle mere jigar ke tukde ko dekhne ka haq toh uska hi hai." ( And anyways Sunaina, Ishu cried the most when Shubi went away....poor boy didn't even sleep or eat properly for days. So its his right to see my baby first.)

Shubman's dad enters the living room, "Woh sab bhul jaao. Shubman tumhari padhai kaisi rahi wahan?" (Forget the past. Shubman how was your studies there?)

Shubman just nods saying, "Acchi thi." (It was good.)

His dad pats his back with pride and tells him to freshen up and take some rest. And everyone gets busy in taking care of their precious prince while Sunaina's face showcased absolute irritation.

In evening, Ishan was sitting on his favourite swing in the garden peacefully when someone pushes the swing lightly. He immediately hit the intruder with his elbow only to hear Shubman's cry in pain. He gets off the swing and tries to see if Shubman got hurt too hard.

Ishan keeps his hand of Shubman's stomach where he hit, "Zor se laga kya?" (Did it hurt too bad?)

Shubman smirks seeing the concern on Ishan's eyes just hums in agreement.

Ishan tries to check again asking, "Yahan pe?" (Here?)

Shubman sees the opportunity and moves Ishan's hand from his stomach to his chest where his heart is and says, "Yahan pe." (Here.)

Ishan slaps him lightly and moves away.

Shubman: Jabse yahaan aaya hoon, bas maar rahe ho mujhe. (Since I have returned, you're just hitting me.)

Ishan: 10 saal ki sazaa aise hi milegi. (This is the punishment for 10 years)

Shubman gets up from the ground and sits with Ishan on the swing as they swing gently, talking and laughing about anything and everything. Just then Shubman notices that one of Ishan's studs is missing.

When Shubman points that out to Ishan, Ishan hurriedly starts looking for his favourite stud. Shubman also joins in the hunt. Finally he spots the stud by one of the pillars and picks it up and hides it.

Shubman: Ishu tumhari baaliyan toh kho gayi lagta hai... (I think your stud is lost, Ishu.)

Ishan is struck with panic as he continues searching for it.

Shubman again teasingly says pointing to somewhere, "Accha tumne wahaan dekha, wahan diwaan ke neeche." (Did you look there, below the diwaan?) Ishan bends to look under the diwaan and replies a quick no. Shubman again points to another location and asks him to look there. These game continues until Ishan genuinely looks scared by the idea of loosing his studs.

Shubman smirks and opens his palm with the stud in it and says, "Aur tumne yahan dekha?" (And did you look here?) Ishan starts looking around asking where not looking at Shubman. Shubman moves closer to Ishan and shows him the studs. Ishan's eyes shine at the sight of his studs. But just as he tries to take it, Shubman closes his palm and pulls his hand behind.

Ishan tries to take the stud from Shubman in annoyance. Shubman just keeps pulling his hand away and says, "Dhundhi maine hai toh pehnaunga bhi main." (I found it so I will make you wear it.)

Ishan huffs in annoyance and turns to show his ear to Shubman. Shubman tries to put the earring in Ishan's ear but this time Ishan decides to play a game.

Whenever Shubman brings the stud close to his ear, he shrieks as if in pain causing Shubman to back off. A smile plays on Ishan's lip as he sees Shubman confused by his prank. While Shubman tries to figure out how to put the studs, Ishan speaks in a curious voice, "Kya yeh sach hai Shubman, London yahan se 7 samudra door hai?" (Is it true Shubman, that London is 7 seas away from here?)

Shubman replies a quick yes.

Ishan, "Aur wahan suraj yaahan se 5 ghante baad ugta hai?" (And the sun rises 5 hours late there?"

Shubman replies frustrated by the stud's mechanism, "Haan Ishu." (Yes Ishu)

Ishan with a smirk says, "Kya isiliye tum bhi sabkuch der se samajhte ho?" (Is that why you understand everything so late?)

Shubman doesn't pay attention to Ishan's word and replies with a yes. He is shook when he realises what he just did.

Ishan snatches the stud and bursts out laughing meanwhile Shubman makes a pout even though he loves Ishan's laugh.

Ishan speaks while laughing, "Kya faayda vilaayat jaane ka jab tumhe ek baali pehnana nahi aata." (What was the point of going to London when you don't even know how to wear an earring.)

Shubman opens his mouth to retort, just then Sunaina calls him from the balcony.

Sunaina: Shubmanbeta!! Shaam dhal gayi hai...Aur Ishan ko bhi bohot kaam honge. Ghar aaja.  (Shubman!! It's getting dark...and Ishu also has many cores. Come home.)

Before he could reply her, Ishan gets up and bids him bye saying he indeed has chores to do.
