Chapter-8: WORKING TOGETHER

The next day, Samuel reached early and eagerly waited for Evelyn. He constantly shifted his gaze from work outside the cabin time to time at Evelyn's desk to know whether she had arrived or not yet.

Finally, he saw Evelyn coming in through the door and walking towards her desk. She greeted everyone with a sweet smile and welcoming face. Her eyes were shining, skin glowing and cheeks were looking as if they are naturally tinted.

She settles on her desk. Samuel gained the courage to call her in his cabin to discuss the project further when he suddenly saw another girl seeking for Evelyn's attention.
It was Adele.

"So you're gonna work with Mr. Handsome from today! I am so glad for you.", Adele exclaimed.

"It's not even a that of a big deal bae!", Evelyn says.

"IT IS! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND? OUT OF ALL THE GIRLS YOU MADE AN IMPRESSION ON HIM!", Adele tried to make Evelyn understand that she was inordinary.

"Stop! I know where this is going! So let me clarify.. I was selected because he liked my work! NOT ME!", Evelyn says..

"Well, it doesn't take time for guys to fall in love! And the girl being you, it should take him a day!", Adele spoke.

"Shut up! You're blabbering nonsense now! Let me work, will you?", Evelyn tried to end the conversation.

"Nuh-uh! I am not leaving right now! You won't get time later in the upcoming days because you will be with MR. HANDSOME-", Adele teases Evelyn.

Evelyn glared at her.
"-working for the for the project! What did you think..?", Adele continued and giggled.

"NOTHING!", Evelyn almost yelled in excuse.
While Adele chuckled.
They continued with their talking.

Samuel had been waiting for Adele to leave to reach out to Evelyn. But this was not possible as the girls were busy talking continuously, talking and giggling.
He gave up on waiting and got out of his cabin.
He walked towards Evelyn's desk and tapped on her desk twice interrupting their girls session.

Evelyn and Adele both looked at Samuel. Adele was left starstruck while Evelyn's eyes widened, she was worried if he heard them both talked because he was literally the subject.
"Good morning sir.", Evelyn stood up from her desk and hit Adele's leg intentionally as she stood up too.

"I have been waiting for you!", Samuel spoke.

Both the girls were in shock and didn't utter a word.

"I mean, I thought you would come to me.. to discuss about the project further..", he cleared his throat after he says this.

"Oh! Yes right! The project! I will be there in a minute", Evelyn insists.

"Okay!" Samuel said and left.

"Woah! He's handsome for real! They were exaggerating!", Adele voiced to Evelyn.

"Now you're the one exaggerating.", Evelyn told Adele.

"Go! He was waiting for you!", Adele teased and chuckled.

"To discuss the project further!", Evelyn eyes Adele.

"I ship you both already! Absolutely PERFECT for each other!", Adele says.

Evelyn glared at Adele and she gave a 'I can't help saying it' look. She left.

She knocked the cabin's door before entering.
"Take a seat please," Samuel insisted.
"Yes sir..", she sat on a chair.

They discussed about the project further. Evelyn was completely serious and focused. She was penning down the important points and notes to remember.
She had a certain look on her face that could melt a man's heart.

While Evelyn was so focused, Samuel didn't hesitate in looking at her in between. He was nervous about the way he felt. He was conscious. But, he doesn't let that come in between his work. Being so captivated by a women, sitting right in front of him, he somehow managed to work professionally.

Time passed unknowingly, when Evelyn checked her phone. She realised that it was past the company's lunch time. Her break got over during the time they were so busy working in. She looked somewhat tense.

Samuel understood that something was up, he asked her,
"Hey? What is wrong? Are you okay?"

She hummed.

"Nah, I don't believe. You look like you got something of yours stolen..", he says

"Wha- actually, yes.. I didn't realise that time passed so quickly.. my break time's over.. But it is fine don't worry I can manage!", she says.

"OHH! I AM SO SORRY! I didn't know.. actually I can order you something! It's on me don't worry!", he insisted.

"Oh no don't bother yourself it's fine we can just wor-" she was interrupted by him,
"It's on me, don't worry about it. I am starving too..", he says with utmost patience and calm in his voice.

She hesitated because she doesn't like to take favours. But still, she nodded helplessly. Her hesitance was clearly visible in her. He said,
"It's fine you can treat me too after we successfully finish this project, how about that?"

"Sure!", she responded.

They ordered pizza and ate in his cabin and then continued to work on the project.
It was until later in the evening, when they were finally done.

"Okay then, I'll call the people tomorrow as decided, photographers, designers, advertising companies and others if required.. Now I am going to take your leave.", Evelyn said.

Samuel nodded. Evelyn was about to leave when he stopped her and said,
"Um by the way.. I would need your phone number. Only if you don't mind.."

"Huh?", Evelyn says in confusion.

"Yes, for the project. I need to be in contact with you during this time so..", he says with a bit of hesitation.

"Yes. Okay. I am fine with it. We need to accomplish success. Anything it takes. Don't worry I'll be available to help, if you're worried about that.", she said so and gave him her phone number.

"Got it!", Samuel smiles at her sweetly.

Evelyn leaves the cabin and heads outside with her belongings.

"Man! Her eyes! Magical! They are intoxicating! I don't even know how I am going to manage working professionally with her being so pretty and serious all at once.", he thinks to himself and silently laughs at his helplessness.
