Chapter-24: FIRST DATE

Next morning, the sun shone brighter, the birds chirped louder, the air smelled fresher than ever.
Surely a good morning.

Evelyn woke up happy and smiling. Not at all lazy to freshen up, cook, dress up.
She looked forward to the rest of the day knowing it would be a blast already.

Samuel on his side, couldn't sleep at all.
The sleep lost to the internal thoughts going on in his mind.
He waited all night for the clock to finally buzz so he could rise from his bed that he'd been forcibly glued to.
He got ready in less than 40 minutes, ate breakfast in a hurry, almost forgot to feed his babies.

Finally the time passed and he rushed to pick up his girlfriend.
He had been rehearsing, and changing the script on how to greet her when she comes.
Finally Evelyn got out of her house andsde it to his car.
She opened the car door and found a paper and pen placed on the seat with a bouquet of flowers.

"DATE WITH YOUR MAN, TONIGHT AT 8?", it read with two boxes, yes and no.

Evelyn blushed as she read it. Samuel glanced at her hopefully and smiled looking at her.

Evelyn settled in the car and marked on 'YES'.

Samuel chuckled.

"Hello there!", Samuel spoke in an extremely manly voice.

"Hi", Evelyn replied in shyness. She acted like a little puppy.

"Did you sleep well?", Samuel asked.

"Yes. Peacefully. You?", Evelyn spoke.

"I could not sleep! You take my breath and sleep both away. I couldn't wait for the sun to rise..", Samuel said resting his head on his seat and looking forward.

Evelyn chuckled as she heard it.
Gosh! It's literally 8 in the morning!, she thought.

They reached the office.
Samuel's shameless self held her hand to which Evelyn responded by forcing his hand to let go of her.
She gave him a death stare.
Samuel chuckled.

"No public display! Right! Got you.", Samuel said teasingly.

Evelyn rushed in before him and settled on her seat.
She eyed Adele which made Adele curious.

Adele came towards Evelyn.
Evelyn told her everything.

"DUDE! I TOLD YOU-", Adele spoke but was hushed by Evelyn.

"Don't scream, you idiot!", Evelyn said.

"Oops sorry! But see! Did I not predict this on the very first day? Not taking credits but lowkey proud of myself.", Adele whispered intentionally.

"Sure!", Evelyn said.

"Dinner tonight? I need the details!", Adele asked.

Evelyn blinked her eyes in flamboyancy, flexing she spoke,
"I am actually reserved for tonight.. got a date to look forward to hah!".

"Oh lord please!", Adele said praying to save her from the flex.

They continued to work.

Throughout the day, Samuel was seen glancing at Evelyn time to time. Evelyn did the same too.

During the break time, Evelyn was going down via elevator alone.
Samuel saw this as an opportunity.
He rushed after her.

As the gate of the elevator was almost closing, Evelyn saw a veiny hand and shoes between the door.
Her eyebrows raised.
She pressed the open button for the doors to open for the unknown person for now get inside.

As the doors opened, she saw Samuel.

'I AM DONE FOR!', Evelyn thought because she was aware this man wouldn't let her go so easily.
Yes, they are together officially but that doesn't change the fact that she won't feel shy and hot around him anymore.
