Evelyn woke up squinting her eyes with a mild headache as the sunlight shot her eyes.
It was early in the morning.
She had fallen asleep on the couch itself.

She stood up and walked towards the kitchen and saw a paper note placed on the slab. She picked it up and started to read,

"I suppose it's finally the time that you have woken up. Get yourself ready, or you will be late to the office. If you have a headache, make sure you drink lemon juice, it's in your refrigerator. I am afraid I won't be able to pick you up today, I have an early meeting. So see you super soon, woman.", it said with a smile and heart drawn on it.

Evelyn tried to recollect her memories from last night after she lost her consciousness.
She started to prepare her breakfast when suddenly an unorganised set of scenes started to play in her mind that made her widen her eyes.
The memory of the drunk rendezvous flashed in her eyes.

She gasped. Paused from what she was doing.
Headache? GONE.
WHY?
Kiss. They kissed.
The floor shifted from her feet.
How could she face him now?
Was he sober? She hopes he wasn't.

Effected by the pile of scenes from yesterday's night, she managed to go to the office. Samuel couldn't pick her up. She thanked god he couldn't.
The plan was to pretend she doesn't know anything because she was 'drunk'.

She wished everyone good morning and quietly settled on her desk. She secretly glanced at his cabin but his cabin was closed, and the lights turned off. This only meant his absence. Her eyes shone with gratefulness.
"Thank goodness!", she sighed in relief.

She hoped for only little or no interaction between them. She needed time to digest and process what she had done so abruptly, being drunk.

But her gratefulness was cut short as the very familiar and known voice strode down her ear drum, making her curse her fate yet again and slightly nodded at her luck while smiling in annoyance looking down.

"GOOD MORNING!", the voice of none other than Samuel said. His smile touched his ears. He saw her looking into his cabin in his absence as he was just entering.

Regaining some strength, she turned her head while looking up.
"A very good morning to you too!", Evelyn said with a very sweet voice and a chirpy, pretentious smile.

Samuel looked at her smiling, trying to figure out if she remembers it and cherishes her actions or hates her action to death or maybe she doesn't even know what had happened.

"I saw you looking at my cabin! Did you need something?", Samuel threw the very straightforward question to get answers to his mindful of questions.

"OH THAT!", she spoke in exclamation.
"I was just looking around and noticed the lights turned off..", Evelyn said, laughing like she just cracked the most humourous joke.

Samuel shot a very confused look at her through his furrowing eyebrows.
He nodded and went to his cabin.
The answer to his question still remained blank. He couldn't figure it out yet.

Throughout the day, Evelyn threw the most same, hinged, sweet and pretentious smile at Samuel whenever she looked at him or passed by him.

Samuel smelled something fishy.
Even when they had lunch, Evelyn laughed unlike usual.
She was trying to fill the space with noises through laughter, trying to divert Samuel's mind everytime they talked.

He knew something was up her mind. Maybe she does remember that they kissed last night.

After the extremely confusing day, Samuel decided to confront her about the truth.

They were in his car. Evelyn put on some music on high volume.
After sometime, Samuel turned down the volume.

He uttered in a civilized tone with a lot of hints of growling in it,
"You remember what happened last night. Don't you?".
