The fight leaves them both reeling. Bakugo storms off, frustration simmering beneath his explosive exterior. Midoriya retreats to the dorms, his heart heavy with disappointment. The following days are filled with a tense silence. Bakugo avoids Midoriya, his usual bluster replaced by a brooding silence.
Midoriya throws himself into his studies, a shroud of dejection hanging over him.
Their classmates watch with concern, the usual camaraderie dampened by the unspoken tension. Uraraka approaches Midoriya, her brow furrowed with worry.
"Are you okay, Deku?" she asks gently.
Midoriya offers a weak smile. "I don't know, Uraraka. Maybe things were too good to be true."Uraraka shakes her head. "Don't give up so easily, Deku. You and Kacchan... you seemed different this time. There has to be something worth fighting for." Her words spark a flicker of hope in Midoriya's heart. He realizes Uraraka is right. Their connection, forged during their amnesia, felt genuine. He can't let their past destroy what they're building.
Determined to clear the air, Midoriya seeks out Bakugo. He finds him on the rooftop, staring out at the cityscape, a scowl etched on his face. Mustering his courage, Midoriya approaches him. "Bakugo, can we talk?"Bakugo glances at him, his expression guarded. Hesitantly, he nods. Midoriya takes a deep breath.
"Our past... it doesn't have to define us," he says. "We can choose to move forward, together." Bakugo remains silent for a moment, his eyes locked on the distant horizon. He remembers Ms. Joke's words: "Memories don't define who you are now. You get to choose how you move forward."
He looks back at Midoriya, a flicker of vulnerability replacing his usual defiance. "Then let's see how far we can get," he mutters, the faintest hint of a blush creeping across his cheeks.A hesitant smile spreads across Midoriya's face. Relief washes over him as he realizes Bakugo is willing to try. As they stand there, bathed in the golden light of the setting sun, a sense of hope blossoms between them. The path ahead won't be easy, but they've chosen to face it together, ready to rewrite their narrative and redefine their bond.
