Beware Izuku stared at the flickering image of Disruptor, the villain who exploited their connection, displayed prominently on the screen in the training room.  Across from him, Bakugou mirrored his scowl.  Their therapist, a woman named Dr. Akari, smiled serenely.
"Today," she announced, "we'll push your limits.  While you battle a simulated Disruptor, I'll introduce a similar emotional static wave.  This will test your control and force you to synchronize your emotions to overcome it." Intrigued by the challenge, Izuku and Bakugou braced themselves.  The training simulation began.  A holographic Disruptor materialized in the room, launching virtual attacks.  Simultaneously, a wave of emotional static pulsed through the room, a subtle hum of negativity that threatened to disrupt their focus.

At first, they faltered.  Bakugou's irritation amplified by the static clashed with Izuku's rising anxiety.  Their movements became erratic, coordination slipping.  Just as it seemed like the simulation would overwhelm them, a memory surfaced in Izuku's mind – the shared understanding from their surprise party, the silent thanks Bakugou conveyed through their touch.
He focused on that feeling – respect, a grudging acceptance of their bond.  He let it resonate within their connection, pushing out the anxiety.  He anticipated Bakugou's next move, mirroring it instinctively.  Bakugou, in turn, felt the shift in the emotional tide.  His irritation subsided, replaced by a spark of... trust?
As their emotions synchronized, a strange sensation washed over them – a sense of unity, a seamless flow of information and anticipation.  Their movements became one, their attacks coordinated with pinpoint accuracy.  The simulated Disruptor stood no chance against their amplified teamwork.

As the simulation ended, a flicker of surprise crossed Dr. Akari's face.  She quickly regained her composure, but the subtle shift in her demeanor didn't escape Izuku's heightened senses.  A sudden, sharp pang shot through their connection, a surge of pure negativity that threatened to drown them. Bakugou roared in fury, lashing out with a powerful blast.  Izuku, overwhelmed by sudden self-doubt, stumbled back, his quirk sputtering.  Their synchronization broke, replaced by a chaotic mess of emotions. "What's happening?!" Izuku gasped, clutching his head.  The training room seemed to warp around him, distorted by the amplified emotional turmoil.

Dr. Akari's smile became strained, her eyes flickering with an unsettling light.  "It seems," she spoke, her voice laced with a dangerous edge, "the experiment is successful beyond my wildest dreams."
With a tap on her wrist console, a holographic screen flickered to life, revealing Shigaraki's decaying form.  "Excellent work, Doctor," he rasped, his voice dripping with malice.  "You've unlocked their true potential.  Now, turn their teamwork against them."

The realization struck them like a punch to the gut.  Dr. Akari was working for the League of Villains!  She had been manipulating their training sessions, using the simulated Disruptor to gradually weaken their control.  And now, with their synchronized emotions at their peak, she was attempting to overload them, turn their bond into a weapon of self-destruction. Izuku gritted his teeth, fighting against the wave of negativity.  He knew he had to reach Bakugou, to break through the fog of manipulated emotions.

Focusing all his energy, he projected a single thought into their shared connection – "Remember the party, Kacchan! We can do this!" Bakugou, amidst the chaotic storm of emotions, caught a glimpse of that memory – the warm feeling of shared understanding, the flicker of respect.  The realization jolted him back to reality.  With a defiant roar, he focused on the memory, pushing out the negativity with all his might.
