The annual U.A. High School Festival gleams with excitement. Stalls overflow with vibrant decorations and delicious treats, laughter echoing through the air as students and visitors partake in the festivities.  For Midoriya and Bakugo, the festival presents a unique challenge – navigating a crowded public space while keeping their burgeoning relationship under wraps.

Despite their initial reservations, they find themselves caught up in the festive atmosphere. Midoriya drags Bakugo through a haunted house, the blonde exploding at every jump scare while secretly enjoying Midoriya's nervous laughter beside him. They share a stolen kiss behind a particularly spooky display, the thrill of the public setting adding a spark to their connection.

Later, they find themselves at a booth selling goldfish. Midoriya, ever the enthusiast, scoops out two orange fish, their vibrant color mirroring Bakugo's explosive quirk.  Bakugo, despite his gruff exterior, can't deny the small surge of warmth he feels at Midoriya's genuine excitement. As they walk through the festival grounds, their hands brush accidentally. The seemingly innocent touch sends a jolt through both of them. Neither bothers to pull away, the unspoken message hanging heavy in the air.

Suddenly, Mina Ashido, ever the energetic matchmaker, bursts out from nowhere. "There you two are! I've been looking everywhere for you!" she exclaims, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"What do you want, Mina?" Bakugo growls, his annoyance masking his flustered state. Mina ignores his question, instead linking her arm with Midoriya and pulling him towards a brightly lit ferris wheel. "Come on, lovebirds! The view from the top is amazing!"

Bakugo grumbles under his breath but follows them reluctantly. As the ferris wheel ascends, the bustling festival scene shrinks beneath them, becoming a sea of twinkling lights. The city sprawls before them, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Midoriya leans forward, his voice barely a whisper. "It's beautiful, Kacchan." Bakugo glances at him, the reflection of the city lights dancing in his fiery red eyes. A soft smile graces his lips, a rare sight that makes Midoriya's heart skip a beat.

"Not bad for a bunch of extras," he mutters, but the lack of conviction in his voice betrays his true feelings.
In that moment, suspended high above the festival, their world narrows down to just the two of them. The whispers and curious glances of their classmates seem miles away. All that matters is the shared beat of their hearts and the unspoken promise of something new blooming between them.

As the ferris wheel descends, a comfortable silence settles between them.  Bakugo clears his throat, breaking the comfortable tension.
"Hey, Deku," he starts, a hint of shyness creeping into his voice. "About those goldfish..." Midoriya's eyes widen in surprise. "Yes?" Bakugo hesitates for a moment, then blurts out, "Don't let them die, okay?"Midoriya can't help but smile. This gruff request is somehow more meaningful than any grand declaration. "Don't worry, Kacchan," he assures him. "I'll take good care of them. Just like I'll take care of you."

Bakugo avoids his gaze, a faint blush creeping across his cheeks.  Despite his usual bluster, a sense of protectiveness stirs within him.  He wants to take care of Midoriya too, to shield him from harm and nurture the fragile bond they've built.
As they walk away from the ferris wheel, hand brushing against hand, their relationship might still be a secret, but it's a secret they share, a blossoming love story unfolding amidst the laughter and lights of the U.A. High School Festival.
