Gaining the Courage

I can't believe it! I spent most of my time today trying to talk to Harumi and gaining the courage to speak to her, but none of it worked! 

First, P.I.X.A.L and I tried to approach her normally, but she was too busy catching sea creatures and releasing them with Skylor. I was so mad at Skylor because she was too scared to start a conversation with her. 

Then, I told P.I.X.A.L to talk to her because they were the closest. She said she tried when they were in the palace, but I doubt that. I know P.I.X.A.L is the courageous type, but I think she is a little afraid to die. 

I tried countless times to approach Harumi, but something always got in the way. Fishes, creepy mermen, devotees, and royal duties. I was so angry that I think I was too harsh on Skylor and P.I.X.A.L. 

So, right now when I go to our cave I will for sure bring it up. No more backing down. No more distractions! I have one mission and I will complete it. 

When I got to the cave, I saw all three of my friends playing a game. They were playing a game called,‘Tridents’. It's an adding game that two players play, but we usually play with all of us. You start with one finger on each hand and when someone taps a number of fingers onto your hand, you add that many fingers to your hand. Once you get to five, that hand is out. You can switch the number of fingers you have on your hand between hands. It's a game of math, P.I.X.A.L's favorite. 

“Hey, guys,” I said. 

Should I start the conversation now? 

“Hello.”

“Hi.” 

“Wanna play?” 

“No, not right now. I have something important to do,” I said. 

“What?” Skylor asked. 

I cleared my throat to indicate that I was about to start the conversation. But, she just gave me a blank stare. I looked at P.I.X.A.L and she didn't seem to understand what was going on either. Where was the friend telepathy when you needed it? 

“I have a conversation to have with you, Harumi,” I said, gulping. 

She gave me a worried look. Why is she the one who is worried? 

“Are you guys going to kick me out of the group? Did I do something wrong? I swear I will do better,” Harumi said, the look of worry didn't leave her face. 

“No, it's nothing like that. Harumi, you don't ever have to worry about that. We won't just leave you hanging,” I said. 

“Yeah, friends look out for each other,” Skylor said. 

“So, stop worrying about us kicking you out. Just be yourself and don't worry about making mistakes,” P.I.X.A.L said. 

Harumi smiled at us and hugged us all in a group hug. We all giggled, but I knew that these giggles were going to turn into screams of death. 

“What is it that you need to tell me, then?” Harumi asked as we let go of the group hug. 

I cleared my throat once again, trying to get some time to think about what I am going to say. 

“Before I say what I need to say, can you promise that you won't kill me after what you hear,” I said. 

Harumi started laughing,“I won't kill you, just tell me.” 

“Ok, so basically one day ago I decided to…” 

I explained the whole story to her slowly. The way her facial expressions changed with each word I said, scared me. But, in the end she wasn't as mad as I thought she would be. 

“I am angry that you didn't obey the rules, but I am happy that you found your brother. You shouldn't have done that, Nya. And I can't believe the amount of people supporting you. I am  shocked. But, as a royal, my life has been dictated all my life and I won't let that happen to you. Live your dreams, Nya. And count me in,” Harumi said. 

“Oh my FSM!! Really?” I swam to her and hugged her. 

Harumi laughed and said,“But, are the humans safe? What if they sabotage us?” 

I trust my brother and his friends. 

“No, don't worry. They won't do anything like that, but if they do then you guys can blame me and arrest me,” I said. 

“I will take your word on it. But, I don't think that would be needed,” Harumi said. 

Skylor poked her head in and said,“Also, tomorrow is our journey. When P.I.X.A.L sings, then the humans will come.” 

“Got it,” Harumi said. 

I was so happy! I get to go on a journey to get to know my brother more! I also get to spend more time with my friends and that hot guy, Jay! I can't wait to experience things that humans do! 

*The Next Day* 

I am super duper excited for today! We are going to start our journey. I like adventures, as a matter of fact I love adventures! My life is never full of them because people always tell me what to do, but not today. 

Before we leave I think Kai and I would like to meet our dad. I will ask him after they come. Swimming in circles as fast as I can, I reached our cave.

I was supposed to update sooner, but I read what I wrote before I publish my chapters (just started doing this so their aren't any spelling mistakes) and I just couldn't do that because I was really busy. But, here it is! My break is about to end and I am sad!!! I don't want to go to school 😭😭 Updates will start getting slow, sorry. I am getting new story ideas, though. Lol.
