Myths and Story Time

Zane's P.O.V:

*A Long Time of Sailing Later* 

Don't get me wrong I love my friends, but when you spend two months and twenty-nine days with them crammed together on a ship, the story gets different. 

I am kind of annoyed by them! I always have to make food for them even when I know they can make it themselves. Not that it will turn out good, but they can at least try. 

What I am thankful for is that they do their chores when I ask because I am Captain. But, I can hear them talking behind my back. 

I steered the ship as the thought of staying with my friends for another two days haunted my mind. 

“Zane!” Cole yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts. 

“Huh..what…what happened?” I asked. 

“Stop the ship!” Kai yelled from behind. 

I immediately dropped the anchor, stopping the ship,“why did you make me do that?” 

“We have reached Mermaid's Tail,” Lloyd said. 

“Mermaid's Tail! Where there have been rumors of sightings of mermaids,” I said. 

“Not just rumors, I think they are true,” Jay said. 

“I heard of the myths,” I said. 

“What myths?” Jay asked. 

“Let me explain, everyone grab a seat,” I said. 

P.I.X.A.L’s P.O.V:

I was exploring the sea, alone. Harumi was spending her time focusing on the kingdom and Nya and Skylor were out hunting for pearls. 

Don't take it the wrong way, I love exploring the sea alone. It is so calming. I love how the colorful fishes and sea creatures swim through the sea. I also enjoy seeing the ocean shimmer from the sunlight. 

I swam and swam until I noticed a big giant shadow covering the sunlight from above. Curious, I went towards it and touched the bottom of it. It felt like something that humans would call wood. I went back a little and popped my head above the water. It was something that humans call a ship! 

“Sometimes mermaids are referred to as kind creatures, but they are usually dangerous to us, humans.” 

I quickly backed away. If Nya or Skylor found me here looking at this ship, they would want to explore it. I had to leave for my own safety and my friends’. Swimming as fast as I ever could, I reached a rock above the shore. Far away from the ship. There was no land to be seen, no humans. Just a lonely rock in the sea. My go to rock in the sea. 

My obsession for singing was greater than all my friends. I just love it, what can I say? As the quiet lured, I started singing. It wasn't a particular song of any kind, it was a song that I had made. Something about the beautiful ocean and how I live in it. 

“I heard that mermaids were femme fatales responsible for enchanting sailors with their voices. Many say they have heard mermaids sing. Their voices are something that we all should be aware of or else it will cause a shipwreck on the rocks.” 

Zane's P.O.V:

Jay shuddered as I explained the myths that I had heard. 

“Guys do you hear that?” Jay asked. 

We all tried to hear something, but there was nothing. Just the sounds of the waves.

“It must be your imagination,” I laughed.
