Sitting outside leading to the gardens of his Familia's home, Bell looked out into the sea of bushes and flowers decorating the fields. Wearing his brown jacket and black shorts only as he had sandals on. Sitting cross-legged as he looked at his knife in hand. Raising it up in view of the flowers as he stared into the clean metal as it reflected his eyes back at him.
"Damn...I thought I was closer to it..." He muttered as he pouted while looking at his knife. Slumping his head down a bit before he was almost pushed down and nearly falling off the stairs. Stumbling as he saw Hedin sitting next to him looking roughed up and beaten.
"Don't be a baby. You're halfway to reaching Level 3 soon after that stupid idea of you and your crew to take on that bizarre Minotaur that's been causing a rampage in the Dungeon." He spoke as he sat down next to Bell as both of them looked off into the distance.
"I take it Fortuna kicked your ass again?"
"Worse...But spill it. I know that's not what you really wanted to ask." Hedin said, looking over to Bell as he pointed the knife towards him. Sheathing it before his very eyes and unsheathed it. To then transform to a large thick katana with a fur patch at the tsuba base. Moving it around before he went to sheath it back into his knife's sheath, seeing it easily enter it despite looking like it wouldn't fit.
"How is Endless Sky able to change? When I fought that thing...I felt free. Ready to really fight it with all I got and wanted to. It felt like I was gliding through water when I took out Endless Sky and felt it heavy and yet cold. I wondered why until I noticed it was a actual sword."
"Yes...and after you killed it, Lili retrieved it and you saw it was a regular knife again. Well, regular being that you're used to seeing a pronged double-edged knife anyways." Hedin commented as he held out his hand. Waiting for a while until Bell gave him Endless Sky as he unsheathed it itself.
"Obviously, you know your knife was a gift from Lady Freya. Made by Hephaestus herself, though admittedly she wanted to scrap this knife and try again. But after so many times working on it and trying to fix it, she somehow ended up going with the same design as it is." Hedin begain as Bell blinked in confusion.
"Wait...my knife wasn't supposed to look badass?"
"Of course not and why would you-actually it is impressive I'll give it that. But she had something else entirely different in mind when making it. Yet she had to make due that she couldn't get this idea out of her head on the design of it so she focused on the other matters she crafted into it."
"Being, how it can transform into another weapon?"
"Weapons. Multiple. I don't exactly know how many she thought to make into this knife but when I asked her to make your sheath, I also asked what to do in case this should happen. After a bit of time discussing with her, she explained to me to now tell you about the knife's properties. Along with how you are affecting it when you use it."
Hedin then pointed to the engraved runes in the blade as both he and Bell leaned forward to see. Handing the knife to Bell as he instructed him to focus in the blade, both watching as the runes glowed faintly and saw that one of them along with the center was lit. All while the other five around the center were dimmer than the first.
"From my understanding, when you kill monsters, you tend to grow as an adventurer with each status and skill you use and grow each time. Similar to updating your status. Meaning that the knife grows with you as you progress."
"So it grows with me, but then how did it turn into a sword from a knife?" Bell asked as he took Endless Sky in hand and observed it.
"Well, when you fought. Maybe your emotions and desires caused it to finally undergo a change. Though as why it changed into a katana, I have no idea." Hedin said as Bell looked at the knife for a moment before sheathing it back and placing it around his hips. Sighing as he leaned on his hand and rested his chin on his palm. Looking behind him at the doors leading into the manor and looked at Hedin.
