Maenya POV
Meraxes and I rode high above the clouds keeping an eye on the ship below us, My father and Rhaenyra had gone to Driftmark whereas myself and the new hand of the king had been sent to Dorne.
I'll admit, I was bitter about Lord Otto being sent awash and removed as hand of the king, though before he left, he did leave me a few books on how to rule a kingdom, though, with me being sent to Dorne almost permanently after I marry Prince Qoren I don't see how it's possible.
And because of my bitterness I refused to ride on the ship with them.
As we kept going, I could feel the temperature starting to rise indicating that we were closer to Sunspear.
The ship docked and we saw Prince Qoren and his two brothers standing there and introducing themselves to the Hand
"Where is the Princess?" Qoren asked
At that point I landed Meraxes and she let out a mighty roar. I paid no mind to their mixed reactions and got down from Meraxes, walking over to stand by the hand.
"Princess Maenya Targaryen, this is Prince Qoren Martell" Lord Lyonel said
Wow. I wasn't really one to admire men or fawn over them but...wow
Qoren who had to only be around twenty was a very good looking man.
I held out my hand to shake his "Prince Qoren, it's a pleasure to meet you"
He turned my hand around so that my palm was facing down, and lifted my hand to his lips "The pleasure is all mine" he flirted shamelessly
My cheeks grew bright red. The only thing stopping me from truly enjoying this was the thought of Daemon...back in the vale with his wife.
Lord Lyonel started to talk again "I'm sure you know why we are here, my prince"
Qoren looked to the new hand "Of course, to discuss the betroth between myself and Maenya, yes?"
Lord Lyonel smiled "Yes, my prince, perhaps we could discuss the details over a dinner"
Qoren smirked "A splendid idea!" He then looked to me "let's say we meet just before sun down for our dinner?" He asked me
Lyonel's face dropped "Uh-I-uh my prince, I more meant for us men to-"
I cut him off "I would be honoured"
He smiled, "Wonderful" he turned to a servant "Lina, show the princess where she will be staying have her change into something more..." he looked me up and down, grinning "comfortable"
He then walked away, his brothers following and Lina took me to my chambers, leaving Lord Lyonel confused and dumbfounded
