Chapter 13:doubt

Joan keep looking at the man sitting beside her, her husband, Ken caught her many times but she doesn't care, she can't get enough of this man sitting beside her, at first she thought her father hate her for giving her to a man she knew nothing about on business but now getting to know the man and seeing past those cold facade he put on in public, she realized it might not be a bad idea to open up to this man, he is a family man, there is no doubt in that after she saw how he relate with his family and this man sitting beside her love her, she sighed looking away.

'something bothering you' Kenneth asked after she sighed.

'no' she replied

'you sure, you keep looking at me and sighing'

' Juliet thought you will leave me once you notice her' she said starring at her lap

'is that what keeps bothering you?' he asked glancing briefly at her before facing the road

'no, I mean, it's not her, I'm just worried, what if you meet someone and you don't love me anymore, I just thought she might be right, after all we didn't married base on love' she said looking out of the window, she glance at Kenneth after sometime to see his jaw clenching and his knuckles turning white.

' Ken, are you okay' she asked

'the fuck I am' he said packing by the side of the road, he keeps looking at Joan his gaze piercing in to hers, she look away glancing at her lap and fidgeting with her finger nervously.

' I'm sorry if I said anything to offend you' Joan apologize not meeting his eyes

'you will be the death of me' he mumbled to himself brushing his hand through his hair before facing her

'i can't believe you think that low of me' he said Joan snapping her gaze to him to meet his already on her

'what?...no, I swear I didn't....mean it that way'

'then tell me what you mean by our marriage isn't based on love' he said as Joan open her mouth and close it when nothing came out, averting her eye, she fidget with her finger

' I show you in my action and I told you in words that I love you and you still thought I will leave you once I found another girl?' he asked and she blink fighting the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes.

Ken sighed starting the car without saying anything and driving home, once they reach home, Kenneth walk ahead of her in a long stride but not without getting the door for her,after everything she said,he still show that he care for her,she sighed walking to her room before realizing all her cloth is in Kenneth's room.

Fuck, how is she going to face him
She thought

She sighed removing her shoe and dress leaving only her bra and pant on before dragging herself under the duvet blacking out immediately which shows how tired she is.

She wake up with her phone ringing, she groaned answering the phone not bothering to check who the caller is.

'hello' she whispered trying to stay awake

'and why are you just waking up?' she heard Jane questioned

'what time is it?' she asked

'it's ten Joan, now tell me why you are just waking  up' Jane asked and she sighed walking to the bathroom to wash her face

'i  guess I overslept, I attended an event last night with Ken' she whispered walking back to the room remembering the fight she had with him, she knew what she said last night to get that reaction is kind of stupid, after everything Ken has done for her to prove that he love her, she just knew she has to fixed it before things get out of hand and she loss him, but how?, How will she fixed this?
