In a sudden rush, I hastily stash the driver's phone into my bra. As the door flings open, I'm met with the gaze of the brothers and their father, their eyes locking onto me.
One attempts to pull me out, but I cling on with determination, thrashing like a wild animal. In an instant, all four of them converge, seizing me and hauling me forcefully back into the house.
"YOUR ALL CRAZY YOU HEAR ME CRAZY" I bellowed, my voice echoing as they forcibly pulled me back into the house.
"We just need the test results, then everything will return to normal," the old man retorted calmly, as if anticipating my outburst.
"SCREW YOU AND YOUR TWISTED VERSION OF NORMAL, YOU CREEPY OLD BASTARD!" I spat venomously as they ushered me back into my room, slamming the door shut and locking it behind me. Desperate, I made a dash for the window, managing to pry it open. Peering down, I realized I was on the fourth floor.
With trembling hands, I seized a lamp, yanking it from the wall socket.
The following day, a knock reverberated through the door, prompting me to grip the weapon tightly, bracing for an encounter. But to my surprise, it was the maid, clad in casual attire, who entered.
"Oh, thank goodness! I thought you were one of them," I exhaled, relief flooding over me.
"No, I was just about to step out for a bit... Wait, was that you being dragged back in here?" she inquired, concern etched on her face.
"Yeah, these people are completely deranged," I muttered bitterly.
"You don't say. One of them asked me to check on you," she relayed, a hint of frustration evident in her tone.
"Well, tell them to fuck off," I replied defiantly.
"To be honest, the other maids and I were discussing this, and we never imagined they would go to such extremes. It's unreal," she confessed, shaking her head in disbelief.
Left alone in the room, I pondered whether these individuals were employing some form of psychological manipulation. Suddenly, the door clicked open, startling me. I hesitated before cautiously venturing out, finding no one in sight.
As I traversed the hallway and entered the kitchen, the maids continued their work unabated. I wandered around, searching mainly for an exit.
Growing restless, I eventually found myself in the library. Concealing myself, I retrieved the phone from my bra and sent a text to Jasmine.

I powered down the phone and returned it to its hiding place, scanning the library's surroundings.
"It's quite beautiful, isn't it?" A familiar voice broke the silence, Leonard's voice. My heart quickened, and I instinctively distanced myself.
"Perhaps we could paint together sometime. I know you aspire to attend art school. We could discuss your plans," he suggested, his tone tinged with desperation. I struggled to contain my urge to lash out at him.
"Why on earth would I want to engage with any of you?" I retorted, my anger simmering just beneath the surface.
His gaze dropped, almost appearing crestfallen.
I turned away, determined to explore further. Moving from the first floor to the third, I encountered various amenities—exercise rooms, media lounges, even a cinema.
"Did you really have to speak to Leonard like that?" Another brother interjected, joining the fray. "Your obligation here is to maintain harmony until the test results—"
"What's with this entire family? It's like no one here can keep quiet," I interjected, my frustration bubbling over.
"That was rather uncalled for," he remarked disapprovingly.
"Oh, truly? How enlightening," I quipped sarcastically, sensing his growing frustration.
I observed as he pivoted on his heels and departed, the futility of the argument apparent.
The following day, the father approached me. "Leonard wishes to spend time with you."
"And?" I countered.
"He wants to talk."
"Absolutely not."
"What do you mean, no?"
"I mean exactly what I said: no, you circus act," I snapped.
"...So hostile," he muttered under his breath.
I shot him a withering glare before striding away, seeking refuge in the maids' quarters.
"You're not supposed to be here," a voice behind me admonished.
"Clearly, but here I am," I retorted defiantly.
