After school was over, I stopped by my locker, just as Sidney and Tatum were leaving. They didn't even look at me. My shoulders slumped as a frown overtook my features. I opened my locker and something fell out of it.

I looked down at the blank white square in confusion until I picked it up, realizing it's the back of a polaroid. I flipped it over to find what I presume to be the picture they took last night. Billy and I kissing on the couch.

I looked around me, not seeing anyone before I put the picture in my locker, between a couple books. I am definitely not taking that to Dewey.

I grabbed what I needed and made my way outside, catching up with Randy. "Hey, about earlier," I started and he looked over at me with a smile.

"Hazel, don't, I'm the one who should be apologizing."

We both looked at each other before I grinned, holding out my pinky, "We good?"

"We're good," he nodded, linking his pinky with mine. He then wrapped his arm around my shoulders, giving me a gentle squeeze. "Damn, I missed you today. I tried talking to Tatum about the new movies we got in last night, but you know her, she just elbowed me and went about her day."

I giggled, shaking my head as we walked. "I missed you too. What did you guys get in?"

He started rambling about the new movie shipment and I tried to listen intently, but a flash of black fabric got my attention, causing me to look around. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I just thought I saw something." I shook my head, looking back at him, "Anyway, carry on."

He had just started back up when his arm was pushed off of my shoulders being replaced by Billy's. "What are you two talking about?" he asked.

"Randy was just telling me about the new movies they got in." I said, giving him a smile as he leaned in, pecking my lips.

Randy suddenly started coughing, gaining my attention as I looked at him in worry. "Are you okay?"

He waved me off, taking in deep breaths, "Yeah, wrong pipe."

I chuckled, shaking my head at him before Billy's arm went down, lacing our fingers together as he tugged me forward. "Say goodbye to the dweeb, baby," he said, his voice deeper than usual, commanding.

"Bye Randy, see you tomorrow," I said as I was whisked away by my new boyfriend. "Where's Stu?" I asked.

"Talking to Tatum," he shrugged as we started walking in the direction of my house.

"I hope they work out whatever is going on between the two of them," I said.

He looked over at me, his brows furrowed before saying, "I don't think they will."

I frowned. "Why not?"

"He's not into her anymore."

I felt bad for Tatum, until her words from yesterday came back to me and I realized maybe I was right thinking that she was talking about me. Especially after what he said today.

Just then, Stu came driving up beside us, "Hey pretty lady, want a ride?" he asked after he rolled the window down.

I laughed, nodding. Billy made no move to come with us though. "Are you coming?" I asked as I stood there with the car door open.

"Nah, I think I probably better go home, let my dad know I'm alive. He's barely seen me since the station." I bit my lip in worry. He said he wouldn't leave me alone. He stepped closer, holding my face between his hands. "Don't worry, you're safe with Stu."
