Stu tossed the box over to Billy as Sid backed up, grabbing my arm and pulling me up before we rushed into the kitchen trying to go out the other door. Billy cut us off, holding the box up to his lips. "Oh, whoa! What's the matter, girls? Looks like you've seen a ghost!"
"Why are you doing this?" she cried, pulling me with her as she backed up, the two of us ending up cornered. I held onto my shoulder, looking at the two boys I love feeling utterly confused.
"It's all part of the game," Stu said, taking a step closer. He and Billy switched weapons, Billy now holding the knife and Stu, the gun.
"It's called guess how I'm gonna die!" Billy yelled into the voice changer.
I shook my head, wincing and Sidney yelled, "Fuck you!"
Billy stepped even closer to us, using the knife to gently run through my hair. I whimpered, pushing myself farther into the counter behind me.
"It's a fun game, Sidney. Hazel, you're not a player, remember the one we played with Casey?" Stu asked and my eyes widened. "See, we ask you a question, you get it wrong, boogyah! You die!"
"You get it right, you die," Billy shrugged.
"You're crazy, both of you!" Sid yelled.
Stu smirked, "Actually, we prefer the term psychotic."
"You'll never get away with this," I said, finally speaking since finding out I'm in love with a couple of crazies.
"Oh, no?" Billy smiled down at me, an evil glint in his eyes. "Tell that to Cotton Weary. You wouldn't believe how easy he was to frame."
"Watch a few movies, take a few notes. It was fun!" Stu laughed and I felt sick, thinking back to all the times I watched horror movies with them.
"No!" Sidney cried.
"Why would you kill Sid's mom?" I asked, furrowing my brows. It makes no sense.
"Why?" Sid yelled.
"You hear that Stu? I think they want a motive," Billy said, looking at Stu in amusement. He turned back to us, his eyes dark. "I don't really believe in motives. Did Norman Bates have a motive?"
Stu spoke up, leaning his head towards us. "No!"
"Did they ever really decide why Hannibal Lector liked to eat people?"
"I don't think so!"
"It's a lot scarier when there is no motive. It's the millennium, after all." I felt another wave of sadness wash over me as he quoted Randy from earlier. "We did your mother a favor. That woman was a slut-bag whore who flashed her shit all over town like she was Sharon Stone or something. We put her out of her fucking misery."
Stu still had the gun pointed at us. "Let's face it Sid, your mother was no Sharon Stone."
Billy moved closer to Sidney now, glaring daggers at her, while physically pointing one at her. "Is that motive enough for you? How about this? Your slut mother was fucking my father. She's the reason my mom moved out and abandoned me."
My eyes widened, feeling sympathy grow for Billy. I remember the night his mom left, how he came in through my window, so upset. I glanced at Stu to see him looking shocked as well. So he didn't even know this.
Billy looked back at me, bringing me close to his chest. "And where does Hazel fit into all of this?" Sidney asked, watching as Billy rested his head on my shoulder, the wounded one, causing me to wince.
"Oh! We did it all for her," Stu said, getting me to snap my head over to look at him.
"What?"
"We did this all so you can be happy. With us," he said.
