"Kenji's P.O.V"

We went to this restaurant that was right next to the bowling centre called Pasta Express. It looked so modern and so nice.

I wanted to sit next to Celeste, but I couldn't bring myself to, so I just stood there.

"Kenji, are you okay?" Keisha asked.

"Oh, don't worry I'm fine," I awkwardly reply. Kio ended up taking the spot. I guess it was my fault. I sat next to Yiran, who was next to Keisha of course.

They look so cute together, when can I have the same priority?

Celeste and Kio kept smiling at each other, it's making me jealous. I'm trying my best to enjoy this hang out, but I don't think it's working. I'm slowly losing my appetite. The pasta I ordered doesn't seem as appetizing as it was before.

I just watched as Kio and Celeste laugh and smile at each other. I clenched my jaw, while taking heavy breaths.

"Kenji, are you sure you're alright?" Keisha wondered. Yiran also looked at me, worried.

"Is Kenji sick?" Kio asked. I'm mentally sick, I guess. I don't know if that counts but it should. Celeste also looks worried.

"I'm fine don't worry," I smiled awkwardly, a smile that Keisha and Yiran clearly knew was fake.

"I can tell you're jealous," Yiran whispered. "I have an idea,"

I hope this idea works...

"Kio, Kenji told me that he has trouble seeing due to the bright light. Would it be ok to swap places?" Yiran explained.

Thank you, Yiran, for this. This isn't meant to be a big deal but at the same time, I can't control my feelings.

"Sure. Kenji, you should've just told me that. I was worried about you," Kio smiled as we swapped.

"I didn't want to interfere with whatever you were watching on Celeste's phone,"

"Ohhh,"

I sat next to Celeste. I went on my phone and texted Yiran. It would be suspicious in saying it out loud.

Kenji: Thank you!!

Yiran's phone made a noise, indicating that the message was sent. He smiled at me.

Yiran: No worries.

Phew.

"Kenji, I was also worried. You didn't eat much. Are you on a diet? Diets aren't healthy, you know," Celeste frightened.

"Don't worry about me. I'll eat now," I smiled as I began eating the pasta. I felt someone's hand rub against my back. It was Celeste. I started smiling secretly.

"I'm glad you're okay," she sincerely smiled.

I shouldn't be jealous. Even if she was dating Kio, I'd still be glad she at least cares about me.

"Yiran's P.O.V"

I went inside my room. Today was amazing. Aside from feeling bad about the whole Kenji and Celeste situation, today was a solid 10/10. Maybe because Keisha was there.

I found a piece of paper in my room. Curiosity overflowed my mind, so I opened it. What was written, nearly made me cry.

To my son: Yiran

We decided to write a letter since it would be awkward saying it in person. We just want to apologize for everything we've done to you. We've only just realised how much we've left you out during certain events, situations, gatherings, etc. We were too focused on Lihao and Chenyu, that we completely forgot about you. It was that bad to the fact that you had to make your own meals. We regret everything. You have the right to be mad at us and to feel jealous. We understand why you feel that way. It's like we failed to take care of you as parents. We recently found out about your relationship with the girl named Keisha while you were in the bathroom, washing up. We didn't mean to, but we saw the texts of Keisha in your phone. Also, that time we went to your school to show Chenyu since he's enrolling. We saw how happy you were with her and all your other friends. You were smiling nonstop. It seems like they treated you better than we ever did, and we regret everything. We accept your relationship with Keisha, and we hope she treats you well.
