Regulus saw himself drowning.

He remembers that he was thirsty, he was so thirsty. He just wanted to drink some of that lake water that surrounded the tiny island; he was sure it would satisfy his dry and begging throat. But, as soon as his hands touched the water, he was pulled deep under. He felt millions of billions of hands grabbing him down towards the bottom of the water. He was choking, he tried so hard not to swallow any of that water, but so suddenly, he felt a warm hand pulling him upwards, towards the shore. He knew these hands, but he couldn't place who they belonged to. He tried to remember any warm person he knew, or the warmest person, perhaps it was the sun—

"Reg! Mate, snap out of it." Said Barty Crouch Jr. rather frustrated, as if he was trying to get Regulus' attention for a while now.

"You seriously need to stop zoning out so much, Reg. I don't think that's good for your brain and all." Said Evan Rosier worryingly.

Right. He was in the train going to hogwarts, starting his fourth year.

"We arrived 10 minutes ago, we've been waiting all this time for you to answer us. Hurry up, please, grab your trunks, and let's go, before the train starts leaving." Barty pleaded.

"Shut up." He grumbled, standing up to grab his stuff, not feeling well enough whatsoever to listen to Barty's whining.

"You wound me, Reggie." Barty teased, standing next to Evan by the compartment door. All of his and Evan's stuff ready next to them

"Don't call me that." Regulus sneered, grabbing his trunk and walking towards the door.

"Would you two ever stop with the childish banter?" Said Dorcas Meadows, rolling her eyes dramatically, seemingly appearing out of the blue, standing by her Pandora Rosier.

"Dorcas, sister! Please save me from these two. I cannot bear to be with them alone no longer." Evan whined, holding his hand to his forehead like a damsel in distress waiting to be saved. Mockingly fainting, falling in his sister's arms.

"Shut up, Rosier." Regulus and Barty said in unison.

Pandora tilts her head, "Guys, can one sew their legs together if they're cut off?" She blurts out.

Evan chuckles, "Where did that thought come from?"

"I read about it in a book." She sniffed. "I want to know if it's possible."

Dorcas furrowed her eyebrows at her words, and started saying, "What could you possibly need that information fo—"

Barty cut Dorcas off, saying, "Well, Dora, my dear, there is no law against it."

"I'm not so sure about that, Barty." Dorcas grimaced.

"It is possible, yeah." Evan agreed.

"Well, if you could make the nerves weld together, it's possible that you'll grow enough skin that you'll be stuck with one huge leg. So, to answer your question, yes, one can cut their legs then sew them together." Regulus replied, walking out of the compartment to stand next to them.

"Interesting.." Pandora hummed.

"Why would you read about that in a book, anyway?" Dorcas started, confused. Pandora just stared at her, no answer leaving her mouth. "Okay...it doesn't matter, I guess." She said, slightly frowning.

They all walk out of the train together, walking to hogwarts. Regulus doesn't remember what happened most of the walk, he was drowned in his thoughts.

He couldn't keep his mind off the dream he had earlier, it wasn't the first time he had it, but it was the first time he felt that warm hand pulling him out of the water.
