About a week later...
The boys came back. Sadie had left an encrypted letter at Shady Belle, telling them where we'd gone. It worked like a charm. They came back... apparently the boat they took had crashed on an island just off Cuba called Guarma.
They got into a fucking war over there. Apparently Dutch and Micah couldn't make sense of things over there either or keep their selves out of trouble. I wondered when the people there would come after us next. It seemed like everyone already was.
When they got back, we moved almost immediately to a place near Annesburg. It was eerie there and had a cave no one dared to go in. I saw Arthur, Sadie and Abigail talking. I knew exactly what they were talking about. They were going to bust John out from Sisika. Sadie told Arthur to meet both of us at the Saloon in Saint Denis late that evening.
He did as told, we talked the plan over, even had Arthur scoping the place out in a goddamn hot air balloon. Of course that went all over the place. Sadie and I had ran into some O'Driscoll's and... I would say she couldn't but it was really that she wouldn't reign it in.
We ended up in a shoot out, killing 30 something or more of those damn O'Driscoll's. Each time I saw Sadie kill them, I could sense a sense of healing in her. I know that's crazy to say and as I've mentioned before... revenge rarely actually helps but... somehow... it seemed to help her. It was therapeutic.
Was I in love with a psychopath? No... but I can see how one could assume that based off how that sounds. Anyways, Arthur was told to meet us at the docks that next afternoon. Abigail insisted on following us, even though we kept telling her she wasn't coming.
"The thing is Sadie, I really can't... I must come, he's my husband!" Abigail insisted yet again when we got to the docks. "I know he's your husband but it's gonna be..." Sadie looked for the words. "Well, it's gonna be violent" Sadie said.
"I can handle myself just fine. I'm coming" Abigail insisted again. She was a persistent woman and capable but there was too much on the line. She had a child and all of her emotions were tied into this. It had the potential to go very wrong if she were to come. Hell, it already had that potential just the three of us.
"Like I said... Ain't happening. You got a boy" Sadie put her foot down, trying to bring her back to reality by mentioning Jack. "I insist!" Abigail said, voice stern and borderline yelling. "Insist all you like... Ain't happening!" Sadie said in an even more firm tone.
"Arthur, Y/N... someone tell her" she said, getting frustrated at her at this point. I threw my hands up, shaking my head. "Tell her what?" Arthur asked, walking up to us, and just coming into the conversation. "She ain't coming with us to collect her husband" Sadie scoffed.
"Abigail, you ain't coming. That's the end of the matter" Arthur said, getting into the boat with Sadie. "See. There, you heard him. Now let's go" Sadie smirked, untying the boat from the dock. "But I-" Sadie cut Abigail off. "But nothing. It'll be quicker and easier with only the three of us" Sadie said.
"Like hell. I'm coming with you" she insisted again, gritting her teeth. I looked at Sadie and she looked at me. We were thinking the same thing. I stayed on the dock with Abigail. I was going to serve as a distraction to help Sadie and Arthur get away without her. I knew the two of them were capable, without me. It was more important that Abigail wouldn't do something stupid right now than for me to go with them.
"Look Abigail, you know there is a small chance of John not being able to make it out. Do you really wanna up those chances of Jack not having a mother as well?" I asked her, point blank, pushing the boat with my foot when she wasn't looking. "Look at me" I said.
