(Kiku's pov)
I got up and checked my phone. I got a text from Yong at 2 am! Why the hell is that kid up 2 am texting people? He should be sleeping. Stupid kid. I looked at the message which read "Yo bro Yao is coming back today at like 2 pm come over and drop hints and shit so we can do this!!! ;D BYE NICU" Nicu? What the actual fuck. I looked over and checked the clock which read 10 am. I guess since its my day off I might as well.
I continued on with my regular routine till around 1. I need to plan out what I should say, I should rehearse. But with who? Leon, no ,Emil, no, Yong, no, Mathias, no. Ugh who. IDEA. I picked up the phone and began to dial Arthur. After a few rings he picked up."Hello" "Ah Hello Arthur I need your help." "Oh, with what?" I went on and continued to explain what was going on. It turns out Leon and Emil was living with him for a while till the bought their current home. I then thanked him for letting my little brother and his husband stay with him. "Anyways so you need help rehearsing what your going to say?" "Yes that is correct" "alright let's begin."
"Nonono not like that you git" Arthur yelled in the phone for the 100th time, ahh this is getting annoying. I looked over at the clock, holy shit its 1:50 "Ahh Arthur I have to leave thank you for your help goodbye" "wait I-" I hung up and ran out the door.
On the way to his house I rehearsed by myself, I just hope all goes well.
When I arrived I parked across the street and got out, it looks like Yao is already here. I walked up to the door and rang the bell tempted to turn around and run. I heard the door open "Kiku" I looked up and saw Mei "Mei, how are you?" "Well please come in" she said cheerfully.
I walked in and sat down "where is Yao?" I noticed he wasn't in the sitting room "oh Yong went to pick him up from the airport, they should be back soon." Oh "oh okay" "is that why your here, to see Yao?" "Ah yes" I nodded. "Aha okay would you like some tea?" "Yes please." Mei went to the kitchen to prepare some tea.
I got up and started looking around, there was so much old stuff. Bam. I turned around and saw I dropped a picture frame. I hope it's not broken. I bent down to pick it up, I turned it over and saw the picture. It was such a cute picture(A/N its the one above). I picked it up and put it back where it was, lucky it didn't break. "What are you looking at" I turned around in a panic, it was only Mei. "Ah Mei you scared me" "aha I'm sorry, please sit." I went and sat down and she placed a tray with a cup on the table in front of me and sat down across from me.
We continued to talk for a while till Mei heard the front door open when she did she got up and ran to the door. I remained seated till Yao entered the sitting room. "Kiku" he seemed shocked to see me here. I don't know if thats good or bad. "Ah Yao hello" I stood up and bowed politely. He sat down beside me. "So what are you doing here?" He seemed happy which was odd. "Ah well you see I wanted to discuss something with you" "what is it aru?" Again with the Aru's. "Well it's um well we should have a reunion with the nordic guys. I mean it has been a while, i'm still in touch with Lein Kasem and Neeraj also I met their new friend/ co-worker names Chao and well-" "Kiku please stop talking for once." With that he cut me off. "Okay so aru you want to have a reunion with them, fine go ahead when and where?" He asked. "Um well next Friday at like maybe 5:30?" "Okay then, make sure they bring some stuff for this thing to. But I guess i'm fine." I smiled and nodded. But I noticed that Yao didn't seem so happy about it, I wonder why? I don't want to pry and ask why but I'm worried as to why.
"Yo Niku!" I turned around and saw Yong run out from behind the corner. He ran and jumped onto the couch "did you tell Yao Pao about the reunion?" "AIYA DON'T CALL ME THAT" Yao yelled but Yong just smiled. "Yes I did" "sweet" "Yong go study" Yao scolded. "But it's summer da~ze " "I don't care you start college soon" "whatever" he got up and left.
"Yao, you don't seem very excited about the idea of having a reunion. Is everything alright? If you don't mind me asking" "nono it's fine aru, it's just. It feels strange, you know getting together with them after such a long time. Even just seeing you here I was so happy. I don't know how to feel right now. We stopped talking to them years ago Leon left home 3 years ago with that boy and we haven't seen him since. You moved out now I rarely see you as well, Yong too says he plans on leaving next summer. Soon Mei will as well. You've all grown up so fast, I miss when you were small. I hate knowing the fact that I lost you guys. Especially Leon, I lost him once and had to wait years before I was able to see him again, now it's happened again. I'm such a horrible person, why did I do this to him? I feel as if the reunion is going to bring up memories of the past. But I'm sure that their suffering as much as I am as well, they too lost there kid. I'm not even sure if they are dead or alive." He stopped talking for a brief moment. "Kiku, do you think I'm a bad brother?" I looked at Yao, his eyes were filled with tears. I realized how much he appreciated us and loved us. He was upset at himself for Leon's actions. "No Yao, you raised us, you gave up your life, your childhood so we could grow up happily and safely. Yes sure you may have been hard on us bit not a day went by where we didn't eat or have a roof above our heads, you sacrificed it all just for us. You are an amazing Brother." I hugged him and allowed him to cry.
Just then Mei and Yong entered the room and saw Yao crying. They came and sat down Yong behind me and Mei behind Yao. He lifted his head and saw them sitting there. He wiped away his tears, and Mei hugged him. He smiled and Yong pushed me into him and we ended up hugging.
"Let's have a reunion, as a family."
