Chapter 42 - Karaoke

"Singing?" You said all dumbfounded following Charlie about with Lucifer.

"Well, everyone can sing." Lucifer chuckled

"Have you heard my singing? Ha!" You exclaimed.

"It's just karaoke, relax." Charlie reassured.

"Last time I check, this isn't a musical."

Lucifer and Charlie exchanged glances before turning their attention to you.

"What?" You asked cluelessly as Charlie giggled, leaving you standing there.

You then turned your attention to Lucifer, who was examining his cane with interest.

"Hey Lucifer?"

The king of hell suddenly looked to you. "Yes (Y/N)?"

You paused for a moment how to phrase it. "How does a deal work? Say someone got what they wanted, but it wasn't through a deal with them. Would that deal be done with?"

Lucifer took a moment to think about it frowning. "It really depends on what it says in the contract (Y/N) and how it is worded." The king shrugged.

"Hmm."

You couldn't help but think too much about the deal. It didn't make sense to you. If Alastor made a deal to look after Charlie and the hotel in order to see you... Charlie Hotel is now working with her dad, being around, and you're here... so how has Lilith twisted the deal for Alastor to still work for her...

"Have you made a deal with someone?" Lucifer then asked you snapping you out of your thoughts.

"Well... not really, no. Just trying to work around a loophole is all in case I ever fell into trouble." You shooed away the conversation.

Lucifer narrowed his eyes, staring at you suspiciously. "Well, if you ever need any more information, like how an angel can break any deal that's been made as a one-off thing as they have the power to do so, let me know."

Your eyes widened to that as Lucifer's disappeared.

"You can't just drop that information on me and leave!" You screeched mainly to yourself in the empty lobby.

"Are.... you ok darling?"

You turned around and noticed Alastor standing there, observing you with a curious expression.

"Never better. Why?" You responded rather quickly.

"Well, you were just talking to yourself. I was wondering if you lost the plot or something." He joked.

"Haha, very funny." You mocked, sticking your tongue out.

"You sure you're fine?"

"I'm sure." You reassured.

Alastor stared at you for a moment before brushing it away. He was keeping a closer eye on you since Vox had targeted you yesterday. It makes the overlord wonder if the TV demon had figured you two out already having eyes all over.

"Just making sure you've seem a bit preoccupied in your mind since that night on the balcony." Alastor sighed.

"I'm glad you were honest with me Al, that is why I'm gonna figure out a way you can break the deal." You said as you quickly hurried off.

"Woah, woah darling, I don't want you involved at all!" Alastor said as he teleported in front of you, causing you to pause in your path.

"(Y/N), I told you because with that information you could better comprehend my situation. I strongly advise you not to get involved. I am serious." Alastor stated firmly.
