"Let me help you," Angel said politely, taking your plate from you.

"Angel, it is not heavy. I am perfectly capable of carrying my plate to the kitchen," you responded with a sigh.

"Oh, go and relax toots," Angel said firmly.

You rolled your eyes and decided to go to the library to find a book.

"What you doing?.." Charlie asked with a smile as she followed you.

"Looking for a book," you mumbled, walking towards the step ladder.

"Oh, I can help with that. What book would you like?" Charlie asked, climbing up the ladder and waiting for your response.

"I would like a dark romance novel," you said with a mischievous grin.

"An interesting choice," Charlie remarked.

"What can I say, I enjoy a powerful man who's dominant," you replied playfully.

Charlie was slightly concerned, but she retrieved a random book from the dark romance section for you.

"Thank you," you said, heading back to the lobby to read.

As you sat down on the sofa, you felt your legs being lifted up and placed on a stool.

"Is this comfortable?" Nifty asked with a grin, blinking her large eye.

"Yes, thank you, Nifty," you replied cautiously.

During your reading session, a glass of water unexpectedly appeared before you, courtesy of Husk, who offered it with a gentle smile. Expressing gratitude, you accepted the thoughtful gesture.

However, you noticed an unusual shift in the atmosphere as you resumed reading. A sense of being watched lingered, and upon glancing over your book, you discovered that everyone was staring at you.

At that moment, Alastor entered the lobby and observed the situation with an eyebrow raised.

"Is everything okay?" he asked, expressing confusion as he reached out to gently kiss the top of your head.

In response, you conveyed your discomfort. "They're all being oddly too nice. It's annoying me." You huffed.

"In what way are they troubling you?" his brow furrowed in concern.

"They simply won't leave me alone," you replied, conveying your frustration.

Alastor then glanced at the group, causing them to disperse quickly and resume to their activity.

You sighed and closed your book. "Al, I appreciate their concern, but I am not made of glass. While their intentions are commendable, I am fully capable of using my limbs despite my pregnancy."

"I think they're just looking out for you. Don't worry about it too much. I'd rather they'd be like this than drag you to another bar." He mumbled.

"It's annoying, though." You groaned.

"Oh, I know, love, they're just looking out for you, is all." Alastor said.

"I suppose..." You agreed. What they were doing was harmless, and like Alastor said, they are only looking out for you after all.

"How are you feeling today, by the way?" Alastor asked. "I am doing well," you responded with a gentle shrug. "Here," you said, placing his hand on your abdomen. "Can you hear the tiny heartbeat over mine?"

There was a moment of silence. "I can hear it," Alastor said with a smile, gazing at you with love and affection. "Then they are doing well too," you said, smiling at your husband reaction.
