Miranda's pov
They take my phone and tell me to delete everything from the phone other than that number and his texts. "But my pictures!" I gasp. Jason smiles with a hand on my shoulder. "It's okay, they're just pictures." He says. I turn around. "They aren't just pictures. They're memories of my life, your life!" I cry. He sighs. "Just don't delete the pictures." He says. I hug him, tightly. "Thanks." I say. He pats my back. "Let's go on home babe." He whispers, kissing me.
Jason's pov
We get back home. I work on a new song called tonight looks good on you. She walks in modeling a pair of skinny jeans, only fueling my creativity as I write on the notepad. "Ain't got a pair of jeans that don't fit you just right." "So what do you think?" She asks. "They fit you just right." I say, setting the notebook down. "What ya writin'?" She asks. I cover her eyes. "You can't see it yet. It's a surprise." I say. She giggles. "Really and when will that be unveiled any time soon?" She asks. "Maybe." I say, turning her around. I keep her eyes covered as I kiss her. I will finish the song and sing it at the upcoming CMA awards. Her arms wrap around my neck.
*the next day*
"Makin' them stars fall right on cue. I just gotta tell ya baby tonight looks good on you." I whisper while writing. She walks in our bedroom. "Is that the song you're working on?" She asks. I nod. "You aren't supposed to know about that." I say, pulling her into my arms. "Oh just give me a sneak peek." She whispers. "I don't know if I should." I say, looking away. "Please.." She begs. I smile. "Fine but I won't sing much." I say. She sits across from me. I grab my notebook. "Ya ain't got a dress that I don't like. Ain't got a pair of jeans that don't fit you just right but girl, now that the sun's gone down. Whoa. Lookin' at ya right here and now." I stop. "That's all you're gonna get here." I say, putting my notebook up. "Oh, Jason, stop teasing me." She says, laying beside me. I see a CMA commercial come on. Brad and Carrie, the hosts come on. "It's gonna be a night of firsts. The first public view of a new private song. No one knows about it yet." Carrie says. I glance at my notebook then my girlfriend who is fast asleep. I turn it off when I come onscreen. "I gotta finish this song." I pull out my notebook again. "You look good at the party, good at the bar. Somethin' bout underneath these stars. Ya look good in the house good in the car, lookin' so good anywhere ya are. Tonight looks good on you. I just gotta tell ya baby, tonight, tonight looks good on you." "Done!" I exclaim, signing my name at the bottom of the page. I don't know why I do that but I do.
*one week later*
I got her a new phone because of the annoying guy messing with her. "Did you finish the song?" She asks. "Sure did, babe." I say, kissing her cheek. "And now for the first time, unveiling a song for the first time on television Jason Aldean, tonight looks good on you." I stand up and wave to the crowd. I kiss her on the lips and head to the stage. I sing the song. "I'm sure everyone knows who that song is about. A girl that was there right under my nose the whole time. I was just too blinded to see it but I see it now baby. I need to ask you something. Will you come onstage please."
Miranda's pov
I'm so not the kind of person to go onstage. But I get up and everyone claps for me. Miranda Lambert even hugs me as I walk passed. What's going on?! I reach the stage. "I wanna say, all those years I left ya hangin', all the times we did nothing but sit around and talk. I wanna take the years I missed and give it back to you. But not as a boyfriend as your husband. This time, I'm marryin' the right woman." He says, getting down on one knee. I take a step back shocked. "Jason, y-you're proposing to me?" I gasp. He nods. "So will ya marry me?" He asks. I nod and choke back the tears. "I've waited 20 years to here you ask me that." I whisper, hugging him. "Wow and for the first time ever, a proposal on the CMA stage!!" Brad says. "I love you baby." He whispers, kissing me on the lips. He puts the ring on my finger. "If there was a cutest couple award, you two would win it." Brad says walking up to us. He puts an arm around my shoulder.
Jason's pov
I'm so glad to she said yes. We'll have the perfect marriage. I'll be married to my best friend. Brad clasps my shoulder. "Congrats man, mKe this one a keeper." He says. "Should I be complimented or insulted by that?" I ask. He laughs. "Are there any kids in the near future?" He asks. "Uh," I mumble rubbing my neck. "We have the girls. I don't know we might have more." She hugs me. "This is the best day of my life. And the song was beautiful." She whispers, kissing my lips.
