"And Y/n threw up after that because-" Shahneel narrated to Ishan who immediately had a change in his expression. "She threw up because of the chocolate, Ishan. Stop acting like a soap opera character."

"I think we should be careful about her chocolate preferences too," he noted thoughtfully and she nodded.

"I did feel bad," she said, jabbing her index finger at his arm. "Then Y/n gave me a hug and told me I couldn't have known because she never said anything to me about it. Seriously, I have the best sister-in-law."

"That's my sister we're talking about," Ishan said proudly.

And Shubman just sat there like, 'that's the love of my life you're talking about.'

You were asleep in your room again after drinking an orange flavored ORS.

The taste wasn't something you liked but he made sure you completed at least two glasses.

Dehydration can cause mild to severe problems.

"Di, take care of Y/n and send someone to me if she wakes up," the younger one stood up from the couch. "Ishu, let's go. There's unfinished business in the basement."

Time skip to night~

Shahneel was supposed to stay with you. Just in case you felt sick again.

But an hour in and she was already asleep on your bed, at the same time that you finally woke up.

Normally you'd go back to sleep after a few minutes of incoherent thinking.

This time, you just couldn't.

You tossed and turned for nearly half an hour before you gave up.

11:40 pm and you were still awake.

Sighing, you pushed the comforter away from you and Shahneel who was lying beside you stirred just a little but didn't wake up.

Landing your feet on the floor, you looked around the dark room for a few seconds before stepping out.

Shubman was just leaving his office in the mansion after a discussion about plans and strategies with Ishan for the upcoming elections.

They're the ones having a say in who'd be in the chair for every five years.

The results were rigged to guarantee them a favorable outcome. And a lot more money than you can imagine ran through.

You were still sleeping by the time he came back for dinner.

Initially, he thought he'd have ice cream with you when you woke up. Then he decided against it.

Dairy products may upset the stomach and are hence not advised to be eaten after food poisoning or throwing up in general.

And because his sister was with you, there wasn't a problem, right? She'll take care of you if you wake up.

Shubman took a shower and changed into some loungewear, ready to get into bed.

But he was still sulking a little at not having got his goodnight kiss.

You'd be sleeping but if he was lucky enough, he could knock at your door just slightly and his sister might be awake.

He can ask her how you were and with a glance at you or maybe after a kiss to your forehead, he'll leave.

With that thought, Shubman walked down the stairs to the floor below.

On the way to your room, he found you on the terrace, curled against the couch as you looked up at the sky.

"Baby," his soothing voice reflected nothing about the reputation people knew him to have. "Why're you out of bed?"

The aura that meant all business was nowhere to be seen; when he's with you, he is only yours.

You turned your head to face him, still hugging your knees.

"I don't know," you mumbled as Shubman sat beside you. "I'm used to sleeping alone." You assumed he knew that Shahneel was with you. "Or mostly because I feel like I can still taste the coconut. It brings out memories I want to forget."

He pulled you into his embrace, an arm wrapped around your waist, his breath running down the back of your delicate neck.

You nestled in his arms, head on his chest as you continued staring at the moon.

Everyday, it's a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and invisible, sometimes strong and full of light.

The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain, alone, and cratered by imperfections. The flaw in every person. Their every emotion.

"Shubi," you called and he hummed in response. "Will you hold me to sleep tonight?"

You looked at his face, smiling lightly as he kissed the top of your head before standing up.

Not saying another word, he swooped you up in his arms, placing a small peck on your cheek.

You just laid your head on his shoulder while he walked through the hallways and up the stairs to his bedroom, all while carrying you bridal style.

Placing you on the bed, Shubman held you between his arms and kissed you once, twice, then buried his face in your neck, his fingers curving around your waist.

Waiting a long time before he got away from your neck, high on your intoxicating scent, he kissed your forehead.

You were able to get a proper look of his bedroom once he pulled away, since this was your first time there.

It was similar to your room in terms of size of elegant details, but with an interplay of dark hues whereas yours had a much lighter tone.

His walls were deep charcoal. The velvet headboard was in a rich, dark color with an addition of gold accents in lamps and drawer pulls that gave a touch of luxury.

The dark bedroom was a haven of both coziness and style with rich textures and strategic lighting, each element contributing to an ambiance that invited relaxation and exuded sophistication.

And more than anything, Shubman's presence made you feel more comfortable.

He was beautiful and that was all you thought as he laid down beside you, enveloping you in a warm embrace.

All the gold in the world was nothing when compared to the way he shined to your eyes.

He was like the golden hour; it all glows differently when he's there.

You rested your head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat, your metronome.

Sleeping beside someone wasn't something you were used to. But when Shubman held you in his arms like you were the most delicate creation sent to bless him with your presence, you couldn't help but fall asleep soon.

You held on to him the entire night while all he thought was that he could stay the same way for a thousand years and more.

Head on his chest, arms around him, you had the most peaceful sleep of your entire existence.

The next morning was wonderful. Its only drawback is that it came at such an inconvenient time of the day and you both had to get out of bed.

Yet he smiled as he woke up, your arms still wrapped around each other.

Because sunrise is so beautiful that it is worth waking him up to see you, for the way it feels to wake up every morning, knowing that you're his and he is yours.
