"Brownie, we need to talk about this," you said to the puppy lying awake beside you. "You've been having a sleepover with your aunt for over a month."

"I can't remember the last time we cuddled him to sleep," Shubman added from behind.

If Shahneel, the ever so supportive aunt was here, she would've asked you both to not gang up on him.

But at the moment, you just realized that you and Brownie weren't the only ones awake in the middle of the night.

You turned your head around, able to see him a bit clearly as your eyes have got adjusted to the darkness by now.

"Why're you awake?" You asked albeit not too loud.

"You're awake," Shubman replied with the same amount of quiet, an arm still resting over your waist.

Turning back to Brownie, you tried to make out the outline of his face. "I just miss you," you continued and felt him wag his tail enthusiastically.

He climbed over your shoulder and fell to the other side.

After a few minutes, he was not as active and slowly went back to sleep.

You turned around and caressed his head, pushing the comforter down yourself, making sure he doesn't get smothered under it.

Shubman moved a little as well, making some space for Brownie.

He's just a month and a half now. Puppies are quite fragile since their growth plates are open and their bones or weak, usually until the six month mark.

You didn't feel like sleeping.

Sure, you liked staying in bed, becoming a blanket burrito even during the day.

It was good there. Nothing ever happened. No people, nothing. Just you and Shubman.

"Shubi," you called, not sure if his eyes were still open or not.

"Yeah, baby," he responded, bringing a hand to your cheek.

"Are you feeling sleepy?" You asked, placing a hand on top of his.

"Not really," Shubman caressed your cheek while Brownie slept between you both.

"Shall we go for a drive?" You asked again, knowing you won't be able to sleep again for a while. "Alone."

"Of course, honey," he said without pausing a moment, already starting to get out of bed.

You followed, making sure that you both didn't wake up Brownie as you got off the bed too.

No one's going to look at you. You're good in pajamas.

With that thought, you and Shubman got downstairs, hand in hand as you walked out of the entrance.

He gestured for the driver to step out and the guards to not follow you both.

"Do you want us to take a different car, baby?" He looked at you before getting the car key.

"No," you shook your head. The Ferrari was fine.

Robin seemed really anxious as you got in the car.

Of course, because you both were leaving without any security, though there was a gun in the dash.

"Let loose, man," Jay said in a low tone from beside him. "He's just going for a nice drive."

The ignition was turned on, and Shubman put his foot down on the accelerator, driving you both away from a still visibly anxious person.

Oblivious to what you'll be in for once you return home.

He was spending too much time in his office or the headquarters as March neared.
