Summary: Tim and Lucy talk, inspired by the 6X06 promo!
🤍
Lucy slid onto a bar stool and tried to fight the monster that was currently clawing at her stomach and tearing her into little shreds. She had lived with his monster her whole life, she was used to it. Anxiety was all too familiar, it roared itself in her bones and lived in her so deep she felt it to her very soul on almost a daily basis. It liked to attack at certain times, bars were most definitely an easy target. Ever since her history with Caleb, Lucy hadn't stepped foot into a bar without someone that she trusts. Well, until tonight. But, her heart was aching and the monster was attacking her and she needed a fucking drink. And she couldn't stomach it to drink Tim's whiskey that was above the fridge, or the opened bottle of wine that wasn't touched when he'd left her at their date.So here Lucy was, pathetic, alone, and in a sketchy bar walking distance from her apartment. She knew walking home alone at night wasn't smart, but as a cop she knew it was still safer than drinking and driving. Lucy rubbed some sweat off her hands, smoothing out her jeans in the process. The bartender made his way in front of her, and she looked up. "Just you?" He asked, pulling out a little note pad. The bar was pretty crowded, and Lucy knew better than to admit to being alone.
"Yea, uh, my friends are back there at a booth, just coming up here for some shots"
"Mhm, ok," He said, and Lucy took a note of his name tag. Timothy. Great. Nothing better than going heartbreak drinking and the bartender has the same name. Well, that's just her luck. "so what can I do ya for?"
"Tequila. Whatever fancy drinks you've got of it,"
"want me to send some back to your friends?" he asked, glancing into the back of the bar.
"No uh it's ok, they're all set back there I think,"
"Ok well, i'll get you started with an Angel City, it's tequila with lime juice, salt, mint, and soda water."
He took a step back and got mixing, with his back turned to her she took a minute surveying her surroundings. Head on swivel. Nobody seemed to stand out, she didn't see any crimes in action or anyone she recognized from the BOLO list. It seemed like a relatively safe place to be. As she turned to the left, someone sat down at the stool to her right. She glance over and saw a man, around her age, maybe older, with short curly black hair and dog tags. He gave her a grin so she smiled back but looked away uneasily, she DEFINITELY was not here to flirt."What's a pretty girl like you doing at a place like this," He asked, his voice deep and not unlike Tim's, god she wished it was Tim next to her. "All alone," he added.
"I'm not alone," she replied, taking the drink from the bartender. "Leave my tab open please," she slid her card across the bar to Timothy the bartender and looked away from the man invading what was supposed to be a night of sitting and feeling sorry for her self.
"Yea you are, otherwise a lady like you would have some else covering her tab,"
"My boyfriend's in the bathroom," she lied, taking a long gulp of her drink. Fuck, it was strong. The man opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by his phone ringing.
"Sorry, gotta take this," he said, pulling his phone from his pocket and holding it up to his ear. Lucy noticed the name on the contact. 'The reaper'. Who was this asshole?
