"Yes, [Name], it's me," Pip confirmed, a wide smile gracing his features. [Name] took a second to process the situation, before barreling into him, squeezing him tight. "I thought I'd never see you again!" They cried, relishing in the feeling of getting to hug their best friend again. "Yeah, well, I figured out a way to see you again. With Damien's help, of course," Pip explained, letting out a small laugh at the sour expression that appeared on his friend's face when they heard the son of Satan's name.

"Oh yeah, that prick. How'd you get him to help you?" [Name] commented, recalling every time they had seen Damien. He wasn't the nicest to Pip, and that had caused an unfavorable opinion of him to form in their mind. "Damien's not a.. prick," Pip protested, hesitating to call his friend such a thing. "Whatever you say," [Name] relented, not wanting to spoil their reunion with debating on how bad of a person Damien was.

They maintained their embrace, and despite the physical temperature being quite cold, both their souls were filled with a warmth they hadn't experienced since the day of Pip's death. In the aforementioned boy's case, however, that warmth was accompanied by a fluttery feeling that he had come to realize was a crush. He'd had some time to reflect in his death, and noticed that what he had felt around [Name] for a while was more than platonic affection. Not like he'd ever gain the courage to admit that to them, though. Things were fine the way they were, no use in ruining a good thing he had just gotten back.

"Wait," [Name] started once they pulled back, much to Pip's disappointment, "were you the thing I noticed the other day?" Pip sucked in a breath as he tried to explain why he hadn't went to go greet them the second he had seen them. "I.. thought that maybe you had forgotten about me, or got other friends and just didn't want to see me again."

[Name] searched his facial expression for any indicators that his words were just a cruel joke, but didn't find any. "Philip, I'd never forget about you. Even though I've got some new friends now, and we haven't seen each other in years, that doesn't change the fact that you're my best friend," they assured. Their words soothed the troubled boy in front of them, who pulled them into another hug. He had missed their touch dearly, and had no problem admitting it to them. His only wish at that moment was that he would never have to go that long without seeing them ever again.

The two had spent the next few days catching up and bonding once more. Since the amount of jobs was dying out as the ghost craze faded, [Name] had a lot more time on their hands.

Unfortunately their free time didn't last as long as they had hoped, seeing that they had a job acquisition note in the communication box they had set up. They parted ways with Pip after promising they'd be back in no time, and made their way to the bus stop meeting point.
