I sat in Michelle's couch looking at the floor wondering how John and the others were doing. It's been 4 days since they were gone.

Michelle was sitting on her bed glancing at her phone and at the clock. When she wasn't looking at her phone, she was looking at the clock. I can relate to how she feels. Nearly every male in John's pack had left, including Allen and David. Some of the strongest females had also left. 

I closed my eyes and prayed that he will be all right. I could never survive if something happened to him. Suddenly I heard Michelle's phone ring. I snapped my head up. I winced and rubbed my neck. Too fast.

Michelle pressed the call button halfway through the ring. "Hello?" There was a pause as the person talked. "You're alright! I miss you! But what do you mean you're in Michigan."

I got up from the couch the couch and sat next to Michelle to hear whatever Allen was saying. Not that I couldn't hear from the couch, but I wanted to be sure what he said.

"My Father knows the state's Alpha. He wants to ask him if he could help us. There is too many of the Midnight pack and we need all the help we could get."

I could hear people talking in the background. I tried to listen to one specific voice, but I couldn't hear it. As if Michelle could tell what I was trying to do, she asked Allen.

"Is John there?"

"No, he went with his father and part of his pack to California." I felt my heart sink. That means I can't talk to him. "But I could give Selene one of his pack members number. I know she's asking for him." John had broken his phone when he sat on it. For now he didn't have a phone.

"Give it to me."

I got a pice of paper and a pen. "It's 605...555...5421."

( It's not a real number so don't call and ask for John)

"Thank you Allen. You better come back, and tell David I miss him. Dad too," I said.

He laughed. "Don't worry, I'll survive, and he heard you." I heard someone laugh in the background, obviously David.

I left Michelle and Allen to talk. I ran to mine and John's room, desperate to hear his voice. Once I was in the room, I locked the door and dialed the number Allen gave me.

After three rings a guy answered. "Hello?"

"Hello, this is Selene. Is John there?"

"Uh, yeah, hold on a second." I heard the sound of feet running on gravel road. "John! Your girl is on the phone."

"Thank you," someone muttered. My heart sped up. John. "Selene." His voice was like music to my ears. I smiled.

"John! Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. How are you doing?"

"Bad, I miss you."

"I miss you too. I can't wait to see you."

"Me too." I laid down in bed and looked at the ceiling. "Why are you in California?"

"We're going to ask the Alpha for help. Let's see if he agrees."
