28.

"B-but---How?" I asked, still in shock. I couldn't think about anything. Honestly, what would you think if you found out your father was alive. The only thought running through my mind was, my father is alive. What I still didn't understand was how. How could my father be alive?

I quickly ran to him and gave him a bone crushing hug. He hugged me back while I cried into his shoulder. I inhaled and noticed he still had the same scent as before; forest and cologne.

Vanessa and David came too and gave him a hug after we broke apart. Vanessa didn't want to let go when it was David's turn. She was always the one that spent a lot of time with dad, apart from Allen.

Dad gave one last squeeze to Vanessa and looked at Allen who was just standing there.

"No hug for me, Allen?" Allen ran to my dad and gave him a hug too.

"What happened to mom?" I asked Dad. "Is she here too?"

He got a pained look in his face. "I'll explain everything to you." His eyes scanned the parking lot. "We better get out before the others come. No doubt more of them will come, and soon."

"My car is over there, we could go in it," said Allen.

Dad nodded and walked to the car. Vanessa and David were already sitting in the back seat. I sat next to Davis while Dad sat in the passanger seat.

The ride home was silent. For the first time in a long time, David and I didn't fight. How could we when we just found out our Dad was alive. How will I explain this to John? Speaking of John, I better text him and tell him about Dad so he doesn't get all Alpha when he sees a stranger in his territory.

I sent a message to him. When I was done I saw David looking at my phone. I scowled at him. "What? You found something fascinating about my phone?"

He scowled back. "No. Mines better."

I chose not to answer. The last thing I need is to be fighting with David in a time like this. I stayed silent the rest of the ride.

John was waiting for us when we got back. He was sitting down in the living room with his elbows on his knees. The way all boys always sit.

When he saw us come on he got up from the couch and hugged me. "They didn't hurt you, did they?" he growled.

"No," I murmured into his shoulder. Someone cleared their throat behind us. I broke away from John and saw everyone looking at us. "Sorry."

Dad nodded and looked at John. He narrowed his eyes a little. "So, you're my daughter's mate."

John nodded. "Yes."

Dad stretched out his hand for John to shake. John shook it.

Dad nodded. "I'll have to talk to you later." Probably to give him the hurt-my-daughter-and-I-will-kill-you talk.

John nodded again, probably understanding the message. "My parents are in the study room. I told them to come, since my father said he knew you."

"Ah, your father. Yes I know him. Shall we go?"

We all walked to the study room where John's parents were sitting. They were sitting on one of the couches that were close to the chimney.  We all took a seat in the couch across from them.

"Hello Selene, It's nice to see you again," said John's mother. She gave me a warm smile and hugged me.

"Nice to see you too."

John's father looked at my father and grinned. "It has been long Luke." He extended his hand.

Dad nodded and grinned back while shaking his hand. "Its been 7 years."

"When my son told me that you were on your way I didn't believe him." He looked at John. "I thought he was playing a joke on me. Though he got over that a long time ago."

John laughed. "I was only 16 dad."

"Feels like yesterday." He looked back at my father. "Wanna tell us how you survived?"

Dad's smile left. He rubbed his hands together and looked at the floor. "Where should I start?"

"The beginning?" I suggested.

He nodded. "This is what happened...."

Yeah, I know it's short but I've been really busy this days.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
