Scarletts pov

Colin grabbed my hand and took Lilys and lead us both in the living room to talk to Lily, I know that she didnt want to have this conversation but we needed to know how to help her if this does happen again

I saw the scared expression written all over Lilys face so i quickly grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze to tell her that i am here for her and she gave me a small smile before Colin started to speak

"Squirt i know you dont want to talk about this but we want to help you, i dont like seeing my little girl upset" Colin said not breaking the attention away from Lily but Lily on the other hand just continued to look down, she didnt want to make eye contact with either of us

"Sweet girl please, let us in you dont have to carry this pain yourself, let us take some of your pain we can handle it" I tell Lily desperation clinging to my voice

"I dont know how to say it without breaking down" as soon as i heard them words come out of Lilys mouth my heart shattered into a million little pieces, even at 13 she is so mature but her little voice had her sounding like a small child

"Its okay baby we are here for you, you dont need to be strong in front of us" i hear Colin say whilst Lily played with the rings on my fingers giving her the sense of comfort

"Im sorry daddy, i did try and make you happy when Jodie was here" Lily looked up at her father with tears threatening to spill and all it took was the look of worry that had appeared on Colins face to make Lily start sobbing

"I just want to get this over with but i dont want to disappoint you dad" Lily wailed out still tears streaming down her face

"You could never disapoint me squirt, i will always be here for you" Colin said trying to reassure Lily that it was okay to continue and i continued to hold her hand still drawing circles to keep her calm

"Jodie wasnt a nice person to me, for the first two months she was okay with me but she ignored me most of rhe time when she had to stay with me whilst you were at work" Lily said trying to regain herself and wipe her tears away and she shuffled into me putting her head on my lap which made me smile

"i- i got home from school one day and i knocked on the door, i waited 10 minutes and when she opened the door she-" Lily stopped talking and more tears came out of her eyes, i placed my hand on her back and rubbed it hoping it wouldn't lead her onto another panic attack

"Take your time sweet girl, take some deep breaths okay" i tell her and i can feel her breathing going back to normal

"She grabbed me by my hair and pulled me into the house telling me i was a waste of space and that why mom left us" Lily cried out turning her head to Colin and I could tell Colin was upset by this news, he has trusted this girl to look after Lily but all she did was break down her confidence, i dont know this bitch but i already hate her

"Then she grabbed me by my ear and pulled me up the stairs and shoved me on the bed then she slapped me, it continued like this for months im- im s- sorry daddy it was my fault she left you" Lily sobbed

My heart broke again, Colin had told me that him and his last girlfriend had left him because she told him that Lily was ignoring her and it felt like she wasnt in their family, thats why Colin told me that he wanted to wait a year before introducing me into Lily so that he could warm her up to the idea, the nights that they had spent together Colin made Lily go stay with her grandmother because even though Lily insisted that she was old enough Colin needed to know his daughter was with someone he trusted

I looked over to Colin and i can see the shock all over his face, the gears in his brain realising what had been happening them few months without him realising and his daughter thinking she deserved it all

Colin turned around and stared at Lily before grabbing his car keys and leaving the house, i heard his car start and drive away which made Lily sob even more on my lap

I quickly moved her up and brought her whole body onto my lap and hugged her tightly to let her know i would never ever let her go

"Lily baby its okay, your dad is just upset i promise he is not mad at you at all baby he just needs some time to think, he is just mad at himself for not realising that you were being treated like that" i say to Lily and kiss the top of her head

"You promise he doesnt hate me Scarly" Lily said in a whisper, so quietly i nearly missed it

"I promise my sweet girl he would never hate you, and if anyone ever says anything mean to you i have 10 years of black widow training i will use just for you" i said earning the giggle of Lily that made me smile

Lily had snuggled back into me and layed her head onto my chest again and started asking me questions about me

"Do you have any kids Scarly" was Lilys first question for me which i gave her the honest answer to

"Yes i have a little girl Rose who is 8 years old and she cant wait to meet you, Colin and Rose have met already and Rose already prefers Colin over me now i never get any hugs from her, but now i can get all my hugs from my new cuddle buddy" I replied back to her and i saw her eyes light up when i told her she could be my new cuddle buddy

I know Lily can be pretty affectionate with Colin when she is upset but other than that Colin told me she doesnt give any hugs to him even though they are close and i could see the shock on his face a few times today when Lily was seeking comfort in him

Even though Rose loves my cuddles sometimes, she has always been a daddys girl, she goes to France once a month to see her father Romain, it does upset me to see her go but i dont want her to stop seeing her father

With Lily it was different, Colin had told me that Lilys mother had left when she was 5 and it broke little lilys heart knowing her mother left her without any reason, but Lily didnt know that Colin had a letter from her mother telling her the reason why she had left but Colin didnt want to tell Lily and make her upset, even though Lily only had a father figure in her life I still hoped that Lily would see me as a mother figure as i already see her as my own but i dont want to rush into it because i can see that Lily isnt so used to this affection of always getting hugs

"Sweet girl, lets watch a movie okay, what do you want to watch?" i asked her and a small smirk landed on her face as she pointed at me

I should have guessed she was going to be picking a marvel movie, the way she talked about her at lunch made me happy knowing that she loved what i was doing, which reminded me that hopefully she could come to set somedays with me

I put the avengers age of ultron on and she sat on my lap with her body sideways and her face turning straight, i kissed the top of her head and relaxed but i couldnt relax fully knowing that Colin had stormed out of here when he heard the news
