Hailie's POV
Today was a typical Tuesday, we walked to the set, Walker and I went walked to a local cafe, McKenna and I went to the mall and the day was settled. Until I heard a subtle, noise from my phone.
Ring ring
Caller name: Jake (ex)
For a moment I hesitated, my hand hovering over the answer button, my mind flooded with memories of our toxic relationship and the pain he had caused me. But curiosity got the better of me, and with a shaky breath, I pressed the green icon, bringing the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" I said, my voice steady despite the rapid beating of my heart.
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line as if Jack was grappling for the right words to say. Then, his voice came through, rough and hesitant.
"Hailie," he began, his tone laced with a mixture of longing and regret. "I know I messed up. I know I hurt you. But please, just hear me out."
"I don't think there's anything left to say, Jack," I replied, my voice tinged with a hint of defiance. "We're over. It's time for both of us to move on."
But Jack wasn't ready to let go so easily. His words poured out like a desperate plea.
"Hailie, I love you," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I know I messed up, but I'll do anything to make it right. Please, give me another chance."
I felt a tug at my heartstrings, a familiar pang of longing for the love I had once believed in. But I knew that I couldn't go back, for myself.
"I'm sorry, Jack," I said, my voice firm but tinged with sadness. "It's too late for us. Goodbye."
With a trembling hand, I ended the call, I knew that was the right thing to do. Everything was wrong, It's been a year why would he call now?
And Walker? What about him, I would never ever pick Jack over Walker. Never.
My toxic ex, Jack, was like a storm cloud looming on the horizon, always gloomy. With his charming smile and smooth words, he had swept me off my feet during my early days in Hollywood. But beneath the facade of sweetness lay a manipulative and controlling nature that slowly poisoned our relationship.
At first, Jack showered me with compliments and affection, making me feel like the center of his world. But as our relationship progressed, his behavior grew increasingly possessive and jealous. He would constantly question my every move, demanding to know where I was and who I was with, suffocating me with his insecurities.
We would argue, a lot. Like a lot a lot. Every time he would apologize to repeat the cycle of manipulating and gaslighting. He began to always snap at me constantly and bring me down.
He was also the producer's son for the Nikolodean show I was starring in at the time, any time I did something he would get pissed and do something to hurt my career and reputation. He always demanded attention, pulling me away from my career. He was the worst thing that ever happened to my reputation, the biggest thing that ever hurt the chances of my dream really happening.
Then there was Walker, he seemed the opposite of Jack, a light to my life, not something that brings me down. I think about my conversations with Walker and our shared moments. He made me feel at home. Like the right place to be was to be with him.

"Hey guys!" I say cheerfully as I enter the boy's side of our hotel rooms. The friend group had a sleepover planned (like we do about every day.) They never get old though, we go to each other's rooms and play stupid games and watch stupid movies and joke about how stupid they are.
"Heyy," I hear McKenna say, as she sets down the Oreos we bought together at the gas station.
"Oreos!?!" Walker practically shouts in enthusiasm "They're my favorite!"
"You've mentioned," Brady says sarcastically which Walker returns with a sassy eye roll.
We spent the next couple of hours watching a rom-com, and we settled for "How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days." As the movie progressed, I couldn't help but steal glances at Walker, by the way his eyes sparkled with each twist and turn of the plot. I admired the way he leaned forward in anticipation during the romantic scenes, his lips curling into a smile as the characters found their happily ever after.
When the movie finally reached its climax, I turned to everyone (mainly Walker), a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips. "What did you think?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Walker sighed contentedly, heart racing from the rollercoaster of emotions the movie had taken me on. "It was amazing, love stories like those always remind me how great love is."
McKenna nodded in agreement, still focused on the movie blocking our noise out. "Yeah, it's a timeless classic for a reason," I said, "But you know what I love even more, Scobell?"
He tilted her head, curiosity sparking in his eyes. "What's that?"
"The fact that I get to watch it with you," I said my voice, barely a whisper trying not to be loud.
My heart skipped a beat at my own words, a blush rising on my cheeks. I reached for his hand, intertwining our fingers.
"Oh my gosh, guys GET A ROOM!" I hear Brady yell from the other side of Walker.
I hide my face under the blanket in embarrassment and laugh, a little disappointed our little moment was ruined.

The movie ended and now we've moved on to Truth or Dare. We all sat down in a circle and given it was about 2 am everything was funnier.
"Okay, McKenna. Truth or Dare?" Brady asked her.
"Dare," She says dragging out the word.
"Ummmm," Brady thinks for a second "I dare you to put on a blindfold and let me feed you a mystery food item. Try to guess what it is without peeking," He says with a grin.
McKenna gives a nervous laugh "Fine but as long as it's from the girl's fridge, it's 10x cleaner."
Brady gives her the thumbs up and blindfolds her, I see him pull out pickles and hot sauce from the fridge and combine the two.
I gag at the smell of the two together as he passes by and force-feeds it to McKenna.
She gave us all a dramatic moment of fake puking and gagging, that made me laugh.
"Let me guess....hot sauce and a pickle," She guessed, rolling her eyes at Brady still disgusted.
"Yuppp," He yells popping the p to which she screams how much she hates him sarcastically.
A couple of rounds pass of this one where Brady even admits he "might like Xotichl or whatever." Then we all cheered in celebration.
"Hey Walker, truth or dare," Brady asks him.
"Dare, obviously."
"Okay well then, I dare you to look at the last person Hailie contacted on her phone." He grins, at first I think 'There's nothing to hide.' But then I remember Jack.
But I can't do anything now Walker has my phone unlocked, in his hand. I watch his face as the light of my phone shines on his face. At first, he looks almost excited then his face twisted up a bit in confusion, then a hint of anger.
"Hailie," He says dragging out my name, not taking his eyes off my phone "Why the hell is the last call you had with your ex."
Now everyone's staring at me with confusion but Walker just looked straight up mad.
