Y/n's pov:

I woke up as my alarm was ringing again and again. Today was the day we will be assigned to  our team. I was excited yet sad. Naruto won't be there. If he had asked me I would have stayed behind with him. If only he had asked me.

I pushed my thoughs aside and got up to take a shower. After I got ready I make breakfast and a bento box for me. I ate my breakfast and made my way outside. Sun was shining high. Weather was nice today.

I arrived at the academy. Everyone was talking with their friends. I looked around for an empty seat but kiba called out my name. I looked toward him. He was sitting with shino and behind him was shikamaru.

I walked toward them and took an empty seat beside shikamaru.

"Hello guys. You all are looking in a good mood today" I smiled at them.

"Well today we will start our missions as genin. We should be happy" kiba said. I suddenly felt a lick at my hand. I looked down to see none other then akamaru. I pulled him into my lap and started petting him.

"Whose team do you want to be in?" kiba asked me. I never thought about that. I want to be in naruto's team. It felt like heavens listen to my prayer, naruto entered with leaf village's headband. My smile couldn't be more brighter.

"Naruto,here." I called out his name.

"Didn't naruto failed the test. Why is he here." shikamaru asked before I could answer him naruto interrupted with his loud voice.

"Can't you see this shikamaru. I passes the test and iruka sensei approved of me" he said with excitement in his voice. He smiled at me.

"Y/n chan, thanks for the lesson you gave me that day. I will never think about giving up ever again." he said smiling his cute cherry smile.

"It was nothing naruto. As long as you are happy, i'm also happy" i said sheepily rubbing my neck.

Suddenly we heard loud thumps against the floor like mad bulls are running. The door slammed open by none other then sakura and ino.

"I win by a whole inch, ino pig" sakura said claming her victory.

"In your dream, ugly forehead" ino barked back at sakura. Sakura ignored ino as soon as her gaze fell on sasuke. She started to make her way toward us, well more like sasuke.

"Good morning sakura cha-" naruto tried to greet her but she just shoved him aside and directly went to sasuke.

"Good morning sasuke kun. May I sit beside you" she asked in her tone doing a 360 degree turn. But sasuke just ignored her.

Naruto suddenly got on the table staring at sasuke. Sasuke also didn't back down.

I never understanded why they fight soo much. All girls except hinata started shouting.

"Sasuke kun show him his place"
"Yeah sasuke kun, defeat him"

Suddenly naruto was pushed by the one behind him and his lips were locked with sasuke. Whole class went silent.

I couldn't control myself. First I let out a litte chucke but then it turned into a whole laughter. Boys were also laughing. But girls' reaction was not the same. They started to encircle naruto. Naruto is in big trouble. I was busy watching the seen in front of me when a curious voice sopke up beside me.

" You don't seem to think sasuke is your true love. Why is that?!" shikamaru asked me. I looked at him and replied. Sasuke got handsome look. I would give him that. But you can't love someone becouse of their looks.

"True love and true friends are never chased" after that I standed up to help naruto otherwise I don't think he will be able to walk today.

"Heyy girls" I grabbed their attention.
