"It's not what you think!" Hayley said jumping up face red, Chris ran a hand over his also flushed face. "Yeah Belle," he stated "I went to kiss her not other way around it's completely my fault" he stated head down not meeting my eyes. I glared at him, but slowly my face softened, I knew how much Chris liked Hayley, and how he would only get hurt if the infatuation continued. So I decided to let him down gently "Hayley, I need to talk to my brother alone for a sec and then I will talk to you" I stated glancing over at my best friend who's wide eyes met mine, "Okay, I'll be in the lounge then" she said before rushing out of the room. I sat down next to Chris on my bed, the mattress dipping slightly at the extra weight "Chris," I began "Hayley is dating Sean, and she really likes him. I think you need to find someone your own age and you and Hayley are friends, I just don't want that to be ruined for you guys over this" I said my grey eyes searching his ice blue ones. "Yeah, I know I just really like her and got caught up in the moment that's all" he whispered face reddening again. I reached over putting my arm around his shoulders. "Hey there are plenty of girls going for you, I mean I see all the texts" I said with a smirk, sure enough, as if proving my point his phone beeped as he received a new message from someone named Courtney. I grinned and ruffled his hair "See," I told him and he grinned at me shyly "go talk to Courtney you idiot" I said and he looked at me a smile lighting his features "Okay, thanks Issy" I grinned and he left my room, shutting the door on his way out, only to be thrown open by a flustered Hayley. "Belle, I don't know what happened, we were just talking and all of a sudden he leant in real close! It was totally out of the blue I swear!" she said the words tumbling out of her mouth. I grinned at her, rolling my eyes "I will forgive you for almost kissing my little brother if you make me a smoothie and bring it in here" I said innocently. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open before quickly turning into a grin. "Wow, not the reaction I expected but okay whatever" she muttered before leaving the room. I was lounging on my bed thoughtfully. Chris and Hayley had known for a really long time, and they had always been really good friends. Not as good as Hayley and I but they were really close. I'm pretty sure that Hayley was actually Chris' first kiss, as two years ago a bunch of us were playing truth or dare and Hayley was dared to kiss the closest boy, which happened to be Chris. I remember how pink he got and the look of astonishment and admiration that planted itself on his face for the next hour. Poor boy, he had it and he had it bad for Hayley, not that I could blame him she was gorgeous, funny and just an all-round great person. And actually now that I think about it the two did have a lot of chemistry and lingering looks that have gone unnoticed. My thoughts were interrupted when Hayley barged back into the room two berry smoothies in hand. "Hey, whats with the look?" she asked before blowing a stay hair out of her face, hands filled with two smoothies. I narrowed my eyes at her "Do you have a thing for my little brother?" I asked, her face paled before she stuttered "W-what? I thought we were done with this? I made you smoothies" I grinned briefly before becoming serious. "I've noticed the way you look at him when Sean isn't around, and actually even when he is, and you guys did kiss that one time" I pointed out. She met my eyes her face pink, "Well yeah, but I mean, he's a kid. And plus he's your little brother, and I-I'm dating Sean" she rambled twisting her hands together in her lap displaying her nervousness. 'hey, it's okay he's like six months younger than us and I don't care if you like him, in fact that would be great since he's like practically in love with you, as long as you keep the PDA away from me. And you and Sean, I dunno" I took a breath before continuing "I really like you guys together but now that I think about it you and Chris have a lot of chemistry" Hayley looked thoughtful. "I dunno Belle I guess I'll think about it. I wanna figure this out soon, but I just don't want to hurt either of them" I nodded understandingly. "Just don't leave it too long babe and you know as cliché as it sounds you should just follow your heart" I said grinning. Hayley rolled her eyes before throwing one of my pillows "Okay wise one" she said in between giggles. And that was how World War III Attack of the Pillows began.
