A Classic Teenage Romance

Chapter 18: Skinny dipping

After a night of singing, joking and the consumption of copious amounts of marshmallows and junk food the group decided to disband and head to bed. There was debate over who would be sleeping where and after half an hour of debating we finally decided on an arrangement that suited all of us. I was of course, sharing a tent with Hayley and Dani, that was decided quickly, Christy, Millie, Taylor and Kelly were sleeping in one of the larger tents and the boys groups consisted of Dane, Sean, Christian and Chris and the other, Sebastian, Tyler and Josh. Our arrangement proved to be successful as we were all comfortable with the people in our tents, well except for Chris and Sean however I knew Chris wouldn't let on to anything, he was too smart for that, considering Sean's large stature. After shouting our goodnights, Hayley, Dani and I headed over to our tent. On the walk over I was quickly reminded of why I despise camping so much, my eyes were watering due to the smoke which scent was now lingering on my clothing and skin, the fire left me feeling hot and uncomfortable, something i hadn't really noticed when we were all together. Whilst Dani and Hayley chatted happily slightly ahead of me I pondered ways to rid myself of the smokey stench and overall feeling of uncomfortable-ness. As we reached the tent Hayley opened the flap and we herded in, one after the other.  I turned to girls who were busily rummaging in their bags for their pjs, "Girls, Im going to head to the beach and have a quick swim to get rid of the smokey smell, I'd rather be salty then smokey" I said letting out a huff as I bent down, picking up my bathers and towel. "Hey! I've got an idea!" Dani exclaimed abruptly. I groaned inwardly. Dani's ideas were never and I repeat, NEVER good. Hayley voiced my thoughts with a woeful "Oh no, not again, please no" she said her eyes raised to the tent roof as though in prayer. I looked over at Dani who was now grinning at us with her Chesier cat smile, and a mischievious twinkle in her eye. "Two words my dear friends," she stated, holding up two fingers that slowly went down as she uttered the two words that would prove to be the worst idea she had ever dreamed up.

"Skinny Dipping".

"Oh no no no, Dani heck no" I replied quickly "there is no way in this lifetime that I Isabelle Adams  is going skinny dipping. No, no, no" I stated shaking my head. I looked over at Hayley waiting for her to back me up, instead she just shrugged at me "Hey im sorry Belle but i think it would be fun". My mouth dropped open. "Fun? Whaaa-" I looked back and forth between the two who just grinned mischievously at me. "Isabelle Adams I triple dare you to go skinny dipping" Dani said a knowing glint in her eye. She knew that I never turned down a dare and that my pride wouldn't let me turn down this one. I groaned loudly and the two let out a triumphant cheer, knowing that I had caved. We all stripped down to our birthday suits my protests filling the tent and wrapped ourselves in our towels. Dani headed out first, Hayley following closely behind and me reluctantly trailing after as the three of us made our way to the water. When we reached the shoreline Dani spoke "Okay girls on one we drop the towels" She looked at us for comfirmation and Hayley nodded, giggling whereas I shook my head desperately. "Three, two, one!" our towels all dropped and we sprinted into the water squealing excitedly. I gasped at the cold temperature of the water hit me and then let out a loud laugh. It was exhilarating, I felt free. However the feeling was short lived as the three of us heard voices nearing the beach. We looked at each other our eyes wide, glowing in the moonlight. Quickly we made sure nothing could be seen and stayed completely still. My breathing grew heavy as nervousness filled me. I noticed five figures moving towards where our towels were placed. I tensed as I heard the familiar male voices of Dane, Christian, Seb and Sean. Each boy held a flash light. Great. Dani and Hayley both shot me panicked looks and I cringed knowing I'd have to be the one to talk. "Hey guys, real quick dont you dare shine those lights in the direction of my voice or I swear i will absolutely destroy all of you" I yelled, the sound of my serious voice obviously catching the group off guard. I knew that once the light made contact with the water our very bare states would be very visible. "Isabelle? Is that you?" Christian yelled. "Dude I told you I heard them" I heard Seb say to the figure I assumed to be Sean who replied with a "whatever man". Dane moved closer to the water and Dani Hayley and I moved further back our hands covering our lady parts. "Dane dont come closer" I warned. "Why ever not Isabelle?" he asked his tone knowing. I shot a desperate look towards the girls who mirrored my expression I'm sure, "Sh*t he knows guys" Dani said panicked. "What the heck are we gonna do?"Hayley said desperately "they're all there!" I shook my head and heard Dane approach the group. I couldn't hear what they were saying however I did manage to make out the words 'shirt' and 'give'. I shot the girls a look as Dane collected the garments off himself, Seb and Sean and began to make his way into the water. "Oh man" i stated, "we are screwed" . Dane got closer and soon he was at arms length. "Ladies," he greeted his tone usually light and playful was soft and held a calm anger, "I think you need these" he handed each of us a shirt and turned around, giving us some privacy. We carefully and quietly slipped on the boys large shirts and Dane ushered us to the beach. Our heads were down, none of us daring to speak, knowing we were each in for a lecture.

Okay guys I finally updated, Im in the middle of editing all the previous chapters because I did look back and notice some holes and mix ups, due to my lack of proof reading. I know, I know..I changed the location of the town to California, as it sounded exotic and cool ahah.
